📍 Sarajevo ➡️ Prijedor | Thursday 04.06.2026
Last nights overnight stop in Sarajevo was at the beautiful Pino Nature Hotel, perched high in the hills overlooking one of Europe's most fascinating cities. https://www.pino-hotel.com/
From there, a cable car ride takes you down into the bustling streets below, where old and new, East and West, seem to collide at every turn.
Unfortunately, the weather had other ideas. Just as one group arrived back at the hotel, the heavens opened and we experienced our first proper Balkan rainstorm of the trip. The second group weren't quite so fortunate and arrived absolutely drenched! 🌧️😂
Thankfully, hot showers, warm food and a few cold beers soon had everyone smiling again, sharing stories from another unforgettable day on the road.
An early start today though as we have a 09.00 appointment to visit Titos Secret Bunker in Konjic, hidden deep inside a mountains. Tito's Secret Bunker remained one of Yugoslavia's best-kept secrets for decades. Built during the Cold War at enormous expense, the vast underground complex was designed to protect President Josip Broz Tito and up to 350 of the country's political and military elite in the event of a nuclear attack. Complete with living quarters, communication centres, meeting rooms and its own independent infrastructure, the bunker is a fascinating time capsule that offers a unique glimpse into the tensions, secrecy and engineering ambition of the Cold War era.
Once again, the riding is simply outstanding in Bosnia with miles and miles of twisting roads, dramatic mountain scenery, deep valleys and endless views made every mile worthwhile. Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to surprise us with just how spectacular it is. We love riding here.
Tonights stop is an old favourite of ours Motel Le Pont not too far from the border crossing with Croatia and 1 last push back to Slovenia.
