The Gateway to Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. With trails suitable for all, tree top adventures, a great café, toilets and plenty of information, this should be your first stop when it comes to exploring Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Enjoy panoramic views and scenic trails, from a gentle stroll to a waterfall past a monument commemorating the Women's Timber Corps, better known as the Lumberjills, to more strenuous routes through lofty woods and rocky crags. We'll be sharing all the latest news and events from the Lodge here.

Hi folks we have a wee bit of damage on our boardwalk and have closed it for safety. We will get this repaired as quick as possible. Thank you everyone for your support and patience over this challenging week.

⚠️📢 STORM UPDATE 📢⚠️

Our beloved wildlife hide at The Lodge has sufferred some extensive damage from storm Boelo along with the Lime Craig Trail and NCR7 cycle route between The Lodge and the Three Lochs Drive being blocked by multiple windblown trees.

The Lodge will remain closed tomorrow, Tuesday 27th October, as there is another weather warning in place. We will begin work to clear the fallen trees when it is safe.

Please be aware that there are many other areas throughout the QEFP with significatnt storm damage which we are in the process of recording and clearing when safe to do so.

The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre will remain closed today so we can assess the damage after the storms of the past few days. If walking on the paths, please be aware that trees are reported as blocking some areas so please take extra care.

The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre, The Lodge Cafe and Go-Ape will be closed this weekend ( 24th and 25th October) due to the severe weather warnings and the unpredictable impact this may have on the site and the surrounding area, with a risk of flooding on Saturday followed by potentially damaging winds on Sunday.
Please take care folks if you are out and about this weekend.

Why not come check out our waterfall trail at The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre this weekend? A short 30 minute circular work takes you past our torrential waterfall, then on to our amazing hammocks, peering upwards at our tall forest trees. A few steps away is a little bridge to our wildlife hide, abundant with red squirrels, jays, woodpeckers and finches, as well as many other bird species. If your'e lucky, you might spot our resident pinemarten. Then its back to The Lodge for lunch, homemade cakes and coffee at The Lodge Forest Cafe. We look forward to welcoming you. 🐿

The Lodge Forest Cafe is closed today due to staff sickness. But the forest is beautiful, and it's sunny so come visit and tell us how many red squirrels you see. 🐿

Our squirrels are abundant right now so make your way to the wildlife hide, just across the little bridge on our lovely waterfall trail and we'll see you back at The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre afterwards for a coffee and homemade soup or cake at The Lodge Forest Cafe 🐿
