Throwing it back to one of the most unique memories in Northumberland! 🦙✨

​Three years ago, we headed to Barnacre Alpacas near Heddon-on-the-Wall for an alpaca walk, and it was such an incredible experience! Armed with a bag of sliced carrots, we got to lead our own furry friend along the farm's scenic paths.

​If you’re looking for something fun, special, and a little bit different to do in Northumberland, this spot is an absolute must-visit. Such great memories! 🌾🥕

September always brings that perfect blend of reflecting on summer, leaning into familiar comforts, and trying something fresh! 🍂✨

​We’ve loved hosting our recent guests at Hope Terrace, who decided to branch out for their latest trip. Having visited Amble in the past, they chose our cottage as a new spot to settle in, unwind, and explore with their dogs for the week. 🐾

​Hearing that they had such a wonderful stay truly makes our day. We’re so glad Hope Terrace felt like a home away from home, and we already can't wait to welcome them back for their next coastal getaway!

​September is officially one of our favourite months. The mad summer rush has settled, giving way to that gentle, calm pace and the lovely promise of cosy autumn days ahead. 🍂☕

Happy National Dog Day! 🐾 Here's a throwback to earlier this summer when Misha was "helping" us get the cottage ready for our next guests. Safe to say the supervisory role took a lot out of him! 😴🏡✨

You might have seen videos of a fire at a building on Fenkle Street in Alnwick last night. Fortunately The Potions Room, located just two doors away, is completely safe and undamaged, and we are incredibly grateful to the Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service for their swift action to prevent the spread of fire along our beautiful historic street.

Please note that Fenkle Street remains closed to vehicles, although you can still access it on foot for a portion of its length. We hope that the building can be made safe again in the near future and please do keep visiting our wonderful neighbouring shops💛❤️

​As a 3-bedroom cottage, there’s nothing better than bringing several generations together under one cosy roof to experience everything Amble and Northumberland have to offer. 🌊📍

​Before their stay, this lovely family got in touch to ask if they could bring their 4 small dogs along. Our answer? Absolutely! We firmly believe our four-legged family members deserve a holiday just as much as we do! 🐾🐶

​We’re so thrilled to hear the whole pack—human and pup alike—had such a wonderful stay.

Northumberland really has it all, doesn't it? As much as we love the vast coastline, taking a day to explore inland is just as magical! 🌾✨

​Here is a glimpse into our day out in the Ford & Etal Estate:

​🚂 The Heatherslaw Light Railway: We started at Heatherslaw’s working corn mill and hopped on the steam train to Etal. The ride along the river is so peaceful and relaxing—the perfect way to slow down and take in the countryside.

​🏰 Etal Village & Castle: Arriving in Etal feels like stepping into a postcard, complete with beautiful thatched-roof cottages, lovely local shops, and the impressive ruins of Etal Castle to explore right in the village.

​🐾 Ultra Dog-Friendly: Our four-legged companion was welcomed everywhere (except inside the working part of the mill)! We enjoyed having our lunch outside in the sunshine and taking our time wandering around.

​🥾 On the List for Next Time: Did you know you can also walk from Heatherslaw over to the village of Ford? We didn't manage it this time, but another day out is definitely on the cards! 📝
