And that’s a wrap!!! ✈️☀️🍹
I’m off on holiday for some sun, sea &… RELAXATION!!! (Get your minds out of the gutter! 😂) and signing off until 20th June.
But don’t worry – another fabulous Travel Counsellor, who has been running her TC business for 29 years, will be looking after my business while I’m away. So, if you need anything at all, she’ll be there for you! (Her details will automatically be sent when you call, email, or WhatsApp.)
As with all holidays when you work in travel, it’s never quite *just* a holiday. Research is always ongoing, and this trip is definitely serving that purpose too.
Those of you who’ve been following me for a while may remember that I returned to our beloved ‘Fly & Flop’ hotel back in December – somewhere we had visited 28 times previously when we were running a 24/7 business and simply needed a place where we could switch off, knew we’d get good value for money, and literally recharge our batteries for a week.
The hotel closed for a year for refurbishment and reinvented itself as an adults-only property, now under shared ownership with Hyatt.
I had promised to write a blog on my return, expecting it to be fantastic – after all, it was somewhere I knew like the back of my hand after all those visits. Sadly, it failed miserably. However, it had only been open for four days and was experiencing plenty of teething problems. Combined with the price increase that often comes with going adults-only, I felt that, at that stage, it simply wasn’t good value for money.
I won’t promote something I don’t genuinely believe in or put my reputation on the line, so I chose to say nothing at the time.
Now, six months on, I’m returning to see whether it has become the hotel I had hoped it would be. From what I’ve seen online, the reviews are looking positive – so fingers crossed, I’ll have somewhere I can highly recommend, whether you simply want to ‘Fly & Flop’ or explore the island.
