NEW! 🚨 The BBC has announced a brand-new Agatha Christie drama, Hercule, with Edward Bluemel set to take on the iconic role of Hercule Poirot.
The six-part series will explore Poirot's earliest cases in London before he becomes the world's most famous detective.
Along the way, viewers will see his first encounters with key figures including Captain Arthur Hastings and Inspector Japp, while the drama also introduces a future nemesis.
Best known for My Lady Jane and We Might Regret This, Bluemel said he feels "very lucky" to be trusted with such an iconic character, adding that he can't wait to continue Poirot's legacy.
Written by Benji Walters, Hercule will begin filming this summer in Liverpool and is set to premiere on BBC One and iPlayer, with BritBox airing the series in North America.
