Athens + the Athenian Riviera: the city and beach holiday you didn't know you needed 🇬🇷
Seven nights, two completely different sides of Greece. Four in the city, three by the sea. Ancient icons and rooftop sunsets, then thermal lakes and long seafood lunches on the coast. No island ferry required (unless you want one 👀).
Here's how we'd split it:
🏛 Nights 1–4 · Athens. Stay in Plaka for postcard streets under the Acropolis, or Monastiraki for markets, rooftops and the best views in the city. Tick off the Acropolis, Ancient Agora and Panathenaic Stadium, then go deeper with museums, street art in Psyrri and cocktails in Kolonaki.
🌊 Nights 5–7 · The Riviera. Swap to Glyfada (beachy, buzzy, tram to town) or Vouliagmeni (calm, upscale, thermal lake on the doorstep). Swim, float, and watch the sun drop behind the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion.
😎 Want more beach than city? Flip it. Spend 4 nights on the Riviera and 3 in Athens for a slower, sun-first version of the same trip. It's your holiday, your split.
📍 Tip: the tram gets you to Glyfada easily, but Cape Sounion is best as a half-day drive or tour. Worth every minute for that sunset.
