Our co-founder, Greg Fox, made the case that this isn't a season to be wary of. "The continent is vast, incredibly diverse and rarely impacted in the same way everywhere," he told the magazine — while Southern Africa may see warmer, drier conditions, East Africa, North Africa and the Indian Ocean islands often tell a different story entirely.
And where it is drier, that tends to work in a traveller's favour: animals gather around permanent water sources, thinner vegetation improves visibility, and wildlife-viewing and photography benefit as a result. "These changes don't necessarily diminish the experience," Greg said. "In many cases, they simply create a different perspective of the destination."
As he put it: "Africa has always been a dynamic destination, and that's part of its appeal."
