There are a choice of beaches nearby notably Spittal and Coldingham and of course the glories of the Heritage Northumbrian Coastline are also within very easy driving distance - Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle and beach and the bustling seaside village of Seahouses. Only 1 hour’s drive from Edinburgh for an alternative day trip the cottage is in an ideal location for fishing, cycling, golf and the historical sites for which the Borders are famous for. Rainbows and golden hour light at Bamburgh Castle what a spectacular Northumberland sight 🧡🏰 🌈

A lucky capture after a quick downpour storm I knew a rainbow was about to pop, although just the tail end still made for a nice shot. And what better backdrop than the mighty Bamburgh Castle a beauty to capture in any weather one of the most iconic Northumberland views.
