It's Friday, let's go with a rainbow... or two 🌈
'The double' was even better than this last night, but I was too slow. That's the beauty of nature!
If it weren't such a cheesy name, this view would be called Rainbow Valley. You can guarantee on sunny/rainy/sunny/rainy days like we've been having, the shape of the landscape that forms the beautiful views here will deliver a rainbow in one form or another. You just have to be patient (and quick if you want to capture it).
I think it's nature saying something...💚

We've noticed you've chosen us for a number of marriage proposals now, and it warms our hearts when we hear of a happy engagement unfolding.
Wondering where you might pop the magic question? You could surprise them as they relax in the window seat, looking out over rolling hills, as the bubbly chills in the fridge. Oooph! What a week! 🌞 And you were amazing 👏
We spent the countdown to the close of the vote with dear friends in a very hot field of tents in Kent, hoping our guests were finding respite amongst the shade of the trees in the forest 🌲
We want to say a HUGE thank you to all who rallied around us this past week and voted for us in the 'Best Boutique Stay' award.
You humoured me in my shameless WhatsApp call out and heard our cry on here and in our newsletter. With your support, we moved from having 20-something percent to, we believe, 46% of the vote! So, alongside the other 9 fine establishments in that category, we now have to wait patiently until the 16th June for the result.
Thank you so much for getting behind us and believing in what we've created here 💖

Could you imagine creating a garden from scratch? SWIPE for THEN and NOW. It's pretty awesome and humbling how a garden grows 🌾
We'd been stockpiling ferns and wildflower seeds, buying tiny bare root plants, potting them on, and seeking out every driveway plant stall and fair that we could find that spring, 3 years ago.
It was a daunting task and hard to fully envision how it would all grow up, fill out and evolve, and provide a multi-layered experience for you, our lovely guests 😊
We wanted to merge sympathetically with the forestry land, encourage the pollinators with a biodiverse menu 🦋🐝, hold up to the predicted hot dry summers of climate change and honour some of our favourite plants that our green-fingered mothers taught us to love 💚
Did we achieve that? Well, it's an ever evolving project, and one we couldn't have created without the expertise of my very excellent mum and brilliant neighbours and friends (thank you and )

You can safely say, though, 3 years on, sitting immersed amongst it all, it makes the heart sing and the soul jump for joy...
