Due to the exceptionally dry conditions, the extreme fire risk, the number of significant wildfires across the UK and current government advice, we have made the difficult decision to introduce a temporary ban on all barbecues across Ranmoor Estate.

We appreciate this may be disappointing, but the safety of our guests, staff, neighbouring communities and the surrounding countryside must remain our highest priority. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

We would also like to express our sincere thanks to the dedicated emergency services working tirelessly to bring numerous large-scale incidents under control across the country—especially our friends at Blandford Fire Station and DWFireRescue. Your hard work, courage and commitment are greatly appreciated.

Something rather special is happening over Blandford Forum this Wednesday. 🌘

A deep partial solar eclipse will be visible from around 6:18 pm, reaching its maximum at approximately 7:14 pm and ending at 8:08 pm.

If you are hoping to watch, find a spot with a clear view of the western horizon - but please protect your eyes. Use only certified ISO 12312-2 eclipse glasses or a proper solar viewer. Ordinary sunglasses are not safe.

Enjoy the view and look up safely.
