Laidback getaways are what Lygies Studios does best – expect a quiet setting that's off the beaten track. Thanks to its countryside plot away from the main road, this family-run hotel is really peaceful.

There are only a couple of tavernas in the local area, and the nearest beach is about a five-minute drive away. You can reach the island’s capital, Argostoli, in around 20 minutes by car or bus, too. Outside, you can relax by the pool. Meanwhile inside, the apartments and studios have all the basics covered – including kitchenettes.

Why not hire a car. I’ve been to Kefalonia twice and the island has so much to offer. The roads are quiet and easy to navigate. This is a perfect base to explore the island from at an absolute bargain price!
