🩵The Sahin Apart Dalyan makes the perfect place for a tranquil getaway to Turkey. It’s just outside the centre of town and you can wander down to the stunning Dalyan River in around 10 minutes. Here you’ll find a string of waterfront bars and restaurants serving an A to Z of cuisines, including local dishes. It’s quite common to see loggerhead turtles in the water as they make their way along the river to Iztuzu Beach, which has freshwater on one side, and the Mediterranean Sea on the other.

🩵At the hotel itself, you’ll find an outdoor pool with a separate section for little ones to splash about in. The water’s edged by a roomy sun terrace and plenty of loungers, so it’s the ideal place to spend the day chilling out. There’s a poolside bar, too, so you needn’t move far from your lounger for drinks and snacks. Just across a quiet road from the Sahin Apart Dalyan, the Blue Crab Villa offers a relaxing stay with access to all facilities, including check-in and check-out. This spacious villa features a private pool and garden. Inside, the bright open-plan living area has air conditioning and a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, fridge freezer, and washing machine. All four bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning, with one on the ground floor for convenience. Families are also covered, with a travel cot and high chair available.

🩵While seaside breaks in Turkey might get all the attention, Dalyan holidays are all about the river. A pretty waterway rolls through this farming town-turned-resort, with a beach at one end and a lake at the other, and activities on holidays to Dalyan centre around it. Relax at one of the many riverside restaurants, stroll along its tree-lined banks or follow its meandering curves by boat. On the border of the ancient kingdoms of Lycia and Caria, Dalyan is also home to impressive ruins, which can be admired from the water.

🩵Take a boat across the river and follow the path past the Kings’ Tombs – temple-like structures carved into the cliffs – to the 3,000-year-old acropolis of Kaunos. Fancy some beach time? Hop in a ‘dolmuş’ minibus for sunbathing and swimming at Iztuzu Beach, where wooden stakes mark out protected loggerhead turtle nesting sites. With so much to see and do, on holidays to Dalyan, you can bank on having a good time.
