Apparently, we’ve been keeping a little secret…

Can you picture yourself Hurkle durkling in one of our superking size beds, like this one in The Loft? 🛌 👆

The Silver Circuit is an 8 mile circular walk only a couple of miles away from our Staffordshire accommodation.

There’s so much to see on this route which starts at Barton Marina, taking you up through part of the village of Barton Under Needwood, passing St James’ Church and the cute cottages that line Main Street.

After this enter the Dunstall estate and climb up through woodlands and back down toward the chocolate box village of Dunstall.

After passing through Dunstall head back into the fields and climb Battlestead hill, supposedly the site of a very bloody battle between the angles and Danes.

After taking in the amazing views of Dunstall hall head over Tatenhill Ridge, where more fantastic views of the Trent Valley can be found, down to the village of Tatenhill (take a quick stop at The horseshoe pub- slightly off route) before heading onto the final stretch down the Trent and Mersey Canal.

With several pubs and cafes en route this is a beautiful year round route (although very muddy in winter).

A great walk to enjoy during the day before returning back to your retreat to relax in the evening, whether in the hot tub under the stars at our Glampsite or The Loft, or with the firepit lit in the shadow of Tutbury Castle at the end of our Castle view garden.

Snow!! In summer?

No we’ve not lost the plot, we’ve just had our first Christmas booking. Castle view has now been booked up for the Christmas week.

But our yurts and The Loft are still currently available, so if you fancy doing something a little different this year, and want to be super organised, head on over to the website and book your Christmas in a yurt.

Or for something really different why not head to Cyprus where you can still expect sunshine and daytime temperatures of up to 19 degrees.

Did you know that this weekend is supposed to be the busiest travel weekend of the year in the UK?!

The kids are all breaking up from school and it’s time to spend some well deserved family time after a busy year of school runs and activities.

With most people heading to the coast and choosing destinations like Cornwall, Devon and Wales, things can get pretty busy on the way to and in these locations.

We might not be near the coast but we have some stunning views, walks and days out nearby.

Visit Alton Towers, Drayton Manor Park, The Monkey Forest or the adventure farm for a fun family day.

Head over to Ashbourne, Bakewell or Castleton for a mooch around these pretty Peak District towns.

Walk or cycle the Monal, Tissington or Churnet valley trails.

And if you still need a bit of water visit one of our local reservoirs like Blithbury, foremark or head over to Carsington Water or Cannock chase where you can get involved in various water activities from kayaking to wakeboarding.

Of course there is the option to do absolutely nothing. Just relax in your yurt, take a dip in the hot tub, light the BBQ or the firepit and enjoy views like this (taken from our car park).
