WHY BOOK 4 HOTEL ROOMS WHEN YOU COULD HAVE THE WHOLE COTTAGE?

If you're travelling to Staffordshire with colleagues for work, a conference, course or event, there's another option.

Blacksmith Cottage sleeps up to 8 guests across 4 bedrooms, from £200 per night.

One booking.
One cottage.
Four bedrooms.
Your own space.

Rather than splitting the team across separate hotel rooms, stay together and have the cottage to yourselves, with a kitchen, living space and somewhere to relax at the end of the day.

And the location?

Just 5 minutes from St George's Park.

So if you're attending a course, conference or event there, Blacksmith Cottage gives you a convenient base without the feel of a standard hotel stay.

There's also a pub right next door, countryside on the doorstep and plenty of space to unwind once the working day is done.

From £200 per night for up to 8 guests.

That's potentially £25 per person, per night when occupied by 8 guests.

Send this to whoever books the accommodation for your team.

Summer holidays over? Your next little getaway could be one for the whole family, including the doggos.

At Blacksmith Cottage, we genuinely love having dogs stay.

With up to four dogs welcome, there’s no need to leave anyone behind when you escape to the Staffordshire countryside.

There are beautiful walks straight from the doorstep, so muddy paws, long rambles and a little fresh air are all part of the stay.

Then back to the cottage.
A warm drink. A comfortable sofa. Somewhere to properly switch off.

For the four-legged guests:

Up to four dogs welcome
Beautiful countryside walks from the doorstep
A space to settle in and make yourselves at home
A genuinely dog-friendly stay

Because here, dogs aren't simply allowed.

They're welcome.

Rainy days? Even better from the hot tub.

There’s something rather lovely about slipping into a warm, bubbling hot tub while the rain falls around you.

And at Blacksmith Cottage, our hot tubs are covered, meaning you can enjoy a little outdoor relaxation whatever the weather decides to do.

So whether it’s a crisp autumn evening, a drizzly afternoon or one of those very British days where the rain just refuses to stop… the hot tub is still calling.

Cosy cottage. Warm bubbles. A little rain. Sounds like the perfect escape to us.

We're very excited to introduce a new little perk for our Blacksmith Cottage guests… 🍽️❤️

Our lovely neighbours at are quite literally right next door, making it very easy to enjoy a delicious meal without having to get back in the car.

Their menus are inspired by Modern British food, with seasonal ingredients and locally sourced produce wherever possible. And if you're staying with us, you'll receive 10% off your food bill at The Meynell Ingram Arms.

Fancy making an evening of it? Enjoy a seasonal dinner, a local ale, a carefully chosen wine or perhaps a whisky by the fire, then simply wander back next door to the comfort of your cottage. 🥂🔥

And there's even more to enjoy throughout the week, including live music every Friday from 7pm and their traditional Sunday roast...perfectly roasted meat, crispy spuds, Yorkshire puddings, seasonal vegetables and rich, glossy gravy. 🤤

It's another lovely part of the Blacksmith Cottage experience: a beautiful place to stay, somewhere great to eat just next door, and no need to worry about driving home afterwards.

Book your stay at Blacksmith Cottage and enjoy 10% off your food bill at The Meynell Ingram Arms during your stay.

How is it nearly September tomorrow already?!

The school holidays are flying by, the school bags are about to come back out… and suddenly we're looking ahead to autumn.

But don't worry, there are still plenty of lovely things to look forward to.

If you're already thinking about October half term, a cosy autumn break in the Staffordshire countryside could be just the ticket.

And if you're one of those wonderfully organised people who is already thinking about Christmas, we're looking ahead to that too!

October half term is currently available at the cottage, so why not have a little look and get your next escape in the diary?

Because sometimes, when summer comes to an end, having something lovely to look forward to makes all the difference.

October, autumn or Christmas… which one are you dreaming about? 👇

Do you enjoy cooking while you're on holiday, or would you rather head to the local pub, or perhaps let someone else do the cooking and hire a private chef?

Whatever your answer, this kitchen has you covered…

At the heart of the cottage, this beautiful sage-green kitchen flows effortlessly from the kitchen itself, through to the breakfast bar, orangery and cosy snug, with the log burner sitting centrally between them all.

And then there’s the garden, right there beyond the windows, making the whole space feel wonderfully connected to the outdoors.

Whether you fancy cooking up a big family breakfast, settling in for a lazy lunch, enjoying a coffee at the breakfast bar or gathering around the fire in the evening, it’s a space made for spending time together.

And the kitchen is beautifully equipped too, with everything you could need for a comfortable stay, including a double oven, air fryer, coffee machine, drinks fridge, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.

Fancy making the most of the kitchen without doing the cooking? You could even arrange for a private chef to come and create something special during your stay.

Or, if cooking on holiday is absolutely not your thing… we won't judge. The lovely pub next door is right on hand, or head to Deer Park Farm nearby for breakfast or lunch.

However you choose to use it, this is a kitchen that really is at the centre of the cottage, and we think it's rather gorgeous.

With the football season now underway, it reminded us to tell you just how close Blacksmith Cottage is to St George’s Park… ⚽️

There’s more to Hoar Cross than meets the eye… 🌿

Tucked away in the beautiful Staffordshire countryside, Hoar Cross is a little village with a fascinating history stretching back hundreds of years.

The village was first recorded around 1230 as Horcros, thought to refer to a grey or stone cross marking the local boundaries. It was once part of the ancient Needwood Forest, and although much of the forest has disappeared over time, that peaceful, wooded character still remains today. 🌳

Then there’s the magnificent Hoar Cross Hall, which has been part of the village’s story since the 19th century. The Hall we see today was built in the 1860s in the Jacobean style, complete with turrets, gables, mullioned windows and impressive chimneys.

The Hall was closely connected to the Meynell Ingram family, a name you might recognise if you’ve visited the village, as our local pub is also named The Meynell Ingram Arms. 🍻

Just a short walk away is the beautiful Church of the Holy Angels, built in the 1870s in memory of Hugo Francis Meynell Ingram by his widow, Emily Charlotte Meynell Ingram. The church is filled with beautiful stained glass and intricate stonework, and was once praised by poet John Betjeman for its “very English” architecture. ⛪

And today, this little corner of Staffordshire continues to be a place to slow down, explore and enjoy the countryside.

We think that’s rather special, staying somewhere with a story to tell. 🤍

Next time you’re in Hoar Cross, take a little wander and see how many pieces of its history you can spot.
