👋This month we welcomed some more new members to the Visit South Cambs family. Please join us in saying “hello”” to Waterbeach’s Brew by the Lake and The Greyhound in Sawston.

👀We’ve also enjoyed seeing new events from Sustainable Coton, Girton Village Community Group and Corkscrew Theatre.

If you fancy getting out and about in South Cambridgeshire this weekend here are some ideas – remember to stay hydrated!

🍃Get up early on Saturday and join Sustainable Cottenham’s Nature Recovery Group to discover the wildlife at the Old Rec.

🌹On Sunday, enjoy the beautiful open gardens in Linton or get active with Swim Bike Run Local at Milton Country Park.

🛍️Our markets offer a range of fresh produce, locally made crafts and artisanal goods. The Linton Kitchen has their May Market on Saturday, the same day as Girton’s market, while on Sunday stroll around the stalls at Haslingfield Village Market or Gransdens Farmers Market, where we are promised a great line up of traders including some new faces.

🎭There’s foul play on tonight and tomorrow when The Over Players present Murder on the Nile at Over Community Centre.

There’s another Bank Holiday weekend ahead and guess what? It's going to be sunny! If you want to get outside and enjoy the sun, here are some things happening in South Cambs 😎

🐄Wild about wildlife and the environment? Come and meet the cows at Wandlebury on Saturday morning, the Cambridge Nature Festival starts and the shiny new Conservation Hub at Shepreth Wildlife Park has its Grand Opening on Monday.

🎭 Corkscrew Theatre deliver double the drama tonight with two one-act plays at Ickleton Village Hall. Why not grab something to eat at The Lion at Ickleton before the show?

🍻Starting today and running all weekend, the beer festivals at The Tickell Arms in Whittlesford and Harlton Hare and Hounds offer a mix of real ales, food trucks and live entertainment.

🎤There’s more live music on Sunday when The Mighty Macca play at The Chequers Cottenham Cambs, and The Cover Up cover rock, blues and soul classics at Fulbourn Institute Sports & Social Club. Then on Monday, Cambourne Town Council and Cambourne Foodies host Music on the Mound with a live DJ, food trucks, bar and fun in the sun.

🕰️Take a step into the past as Denny Abbey and The Farmland Museum goes back to the 1940s with a range of displays, demonstrations and activities exploring what life was like during World War II, or take in the Classic Land Rover Display while strolling through the grounds at Wimpole Estate NT on Sunday.

🍻On Saturday there’s a tour and tasting at BrewBoard in Harston, while at Stapleford Granary Arts Centre - Cambridgeshire you can enjoy an evening of soothing harmonies from EXAUDI Vocal Ensemble.

🚲On Sunday, cheer on the charity cycle ride in aid of Cambridge Cancer Help Centre starting off from Scotsdales Nursery and Garden Centre Ltd in Great Shelford, or get your old appliances, clothing and jewellery mended at the Haslingfield & Harlton Eco Group Repair Cafe.

🫛If you enjoy fresh, tasty local produce, handmade crafts and community spirit, head on to Histon on Saturday for the Farmers Fayres Market or visit the Waterbeach Community Market on Sunday.

🌬️ It’s National Mills Weekend and there are open days at Bourn Windmill and Impington Windmill all weekend and at Hinxton Watermill on Sunday.💦

🎨 Enjoy art? There are exhibitions at Stapleford Granary Arts Centre - Cambridgeshire, GalleryAbove in Linton and St Andrew’s Church in Girton.

👨‍👩‍👧 For family fun on Saturday, try the May Fair at Waldorf Cambridge School in Fulbourn, the Family Ceilidh in Histon, or the Dog Show at Willow Grange Farm Shop and Cafe in Chittering.

🚶 If you feel like doing something active on Sunday, the Five Pub Challenge Walk starts at the Over Day Centre taking in The Three Tuns in Fen Drayton and The Admiral - Over. 🍻 Alternatively, you could cheer on the 40th anniversary Sawston Fun Run and enjoy the stalls, refreshments and activities – maybe even take part in the fancy dress competition!🏃

There’s nothing quite like a South Cambs market, bringing our communities together with local produce, friendly faces, and a real flavour of where we live.

Histon Country Market takes place tomorrow morning, and on Saturday there are the Farmers Fayres Market at Girton and Wilbrahams' Food & Craft Fair.

On Sunday, there’s the Caxton Farmers Market and Cambridge City Football Club is holding a Craft & Car Boot sale in Sawston .
