✨Heading to Europe soon? There’s a new EU biometric checks for UK travellers and and here’s what you need to know✨

💎What’s changing?
The EU is introducing the Entry/Exit System (EES) — a digital border system that replaces passport stamping with biometric checks.

💎What do I need to do?
When you arrive at an EU border, travellers aged 12+ will have:
Fingerprints scanned
A quick facial photo taken

Your EES is valid for 3 years. However, once 3 years have passed, you will need to complete the registration process again at the border when you next visit Europe

💎What if i'm travelling through Eurostar, Dover & Eurotunnel?
If you’re travelling through a juxtaposed border (St Pancras, Dover, Folkestone), these checks happen before you leave the UK.

💎 What is the cost?
Free — there’s no charge for EES registration.

💎What can I expect?
The process is simple but queues may be longer at first. Allow extra time, especially during peak travel seasons. I have had a client return from Corfu recently who said it was extremely busy when they arrives and when they were departing

💎 Why is it happening?
The EU is upgrading to a digital system to improve security and speed up future border crossings.
