This morning we welcomed the Lord Mayor of Chester aboard for the annual Inspection of the Dee.

As Lord Mayor of Chester, Councillor Sherin Akhtar is also Admiral of the Dee, a title that dates back to the 14th century. Although the "Inspection" is largely ceremonial, this annual cruise gives the attendees chance to learn about the River Dee and hear from the river patrol staff who do carry out checks on the water.
