🌍💙 𝙏𝙃𝙀𝙍𝙀’𝙎 𝙎𝙊𝙈𝙀𝙏𝙃𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝘼𝘽𝙊𝙐𝙏 𝙏𝙍𝘼𝙑𝙀𝙇 𝙏𝙃𝘼𝙏 𝙉𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙍 𝙂𝙀𝙏𝙎 𝙊𝙇𝘿!

It doesn’t matter how many places you visit, there’s always somewhere else that catches your eye!

A beautiful little town you’ve never heard of, a hotel with the most incredible views, or a destination you hadn’t even considered until someone mentioned it.

And before you know it, you’re mentally packing your suitcase! 😂✈️

That’s one of the things I love most about working in travel. There’s always something new to discover, and I get to help other people experience it too.

The world is far too interesting to keep going to the same places… although I definitely have a few favourites I’d happily return to! 💙

🤯You start off looking for a lovely little getaway… and three hours later you’ve got 27 browser tabs open, you’re comparing hotels you’ve never heard of, and you’re wondering whether you actually need a holiday just to recover from booking one! 🤣

Luckily, this is the sort of thing I genuinely 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 doing!

😂 SOME PEOPLE HAVE A SHOPPING PROBLEM…

I have a holiday research problem.

I’ll see someone mention a destination and suddenly I’m investigating:

✈️ The best time to go
🏨 Where to stay
🍽️ What restaurants are nearby
🌍 What else you could combine it with

Nobody asked me to do this.

Nobody is even necessarily booking anything.

But apparently my brain has decided that every conversation is a potential holiday itinerary. 😂

🚢 I SPENT TUESDAY TALKING ABOUT RIVER CRUISES ALL DAY… AND I’M STILL NOT BORED. 😂

One thing that really stood out at this week’s CLIA River Cruise Forum?

Just how DIFFERENT the river cruise lines actually are.

Some are all about ultra-luxury.

Some focus on active exploration.

Others are fantastic for food and w**e lovers, culture seekers or people who want everything taken care of.

And that’s before we even start talking about the rivers themselves! 🌍

As a CLIA Cruise Master and River Cruise Champion, helping people navigate those differences is one of my favourite parts of the job.

Because there isn’t one perfect river cruise.

There’s the perfect river cruise for YOU. ❤️🚢

✈️ THE THINGS I CHECK THAT YOU MIGHT NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT… 👀

When I’m researching a holiday, I’m not just looking at pretty hotel photos and the price.

I’m checking things like…

🏖️ Is that gorgeous beach actually swimmable?

🍽️ Are the à la carte restaurants included, or will you be paying extra?

🚕 Is the hotel really 20 minutes from the airport?

🏊‍♀️ Can your children actually use the waterslides?

🛏️ Is that room upgrade genuinely worth the money?

Because a holiday can look absolutely PERFECT online…

Until you arrive and discover the things nobody mentioned. 😬

That’s why having a Travel Concierge in your corner makes a difference. ❤️

And yes, I probably spend far too much time investigating the finer details. 😂

But that’s rather the point!

Genuinely one of my favourite things a client can say to me. 😂

Today was one of those days that reminds me just how much I 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 this industry.

A full day in Manchester talking river cruising - learning what’s new, what’s coming, what travellers are looking for and getting proper face-to-face time with the people behind the cruise lines I book for my clients.

I caught up with some familiar faces (and old friends! ❤️), met some new ones and had training and conversations with:

🗞️ We also heard from Robertina at Mail Metro Media about the latest travel trends and what people are looking for from their holidays.

And 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 is why I go to days like today.

It’s not just about knowing which river cruise companies exist.

It’s knowing how they differ, who they suit, what’s new and which one is going to be right for YOU.

As a 𝗖𝗟𝗜𝗔 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 & 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻, I already spend a ridiculous amount of time talking about ships 😂 - but there is always more to learn.
