Day 2 at Clevedon Flower Show and today my son Dan is helping me on my Driving Miss Daisy Clevedon information stand 🥰

There is a fab programme of entertainment today 🎶, classic car display 🚘, BBQ 🍔 and of course the fantastic exhibits to enjoy. 🌻🪴🌸

It's definitely been a day for 🍦🍦🍦🌞🥵!!

Luckily our air-conditioned cars keep our clients chilled whilst we are out and about, and I always carry bottles of water on board to keep us hydrated 🚕💦😃

A new Memory cafe is starting on Thursdays at Osborne Community Cafe if you need transport or a companion to accompany your loved one to it, whilst you take a break, we can help.

Ever moving forward, the Osborne community cafe is gathering pace with its groups. Here is our latest. The Memory cafe is a fun way to share some quality fun time with your partner. We will be having professional speakers coming in regularly talking about local and national services. Pit stop at the new Osborne Community Cafe today for a coffee and a delicious slice of cake! ☕️🍰😋

Overlooking Ladye Bay, it is a warm, welcoming space, with terrific views.
In addition to fabulous food and drinks, the cafe is a hub of community support and information, with a special focus on dementia-friendly services.
The cafe is wheelchair accessible and has a disabled toilet.

We've helped lots of our clients get out and about in the sunshine this week! 🌞🚂🎪🏖

Trip destinations have included Puxton park, Weston Pier, Bristol docks and even Paignton!

Our air-conditioned wheelchair accessible vehicles enable clients who need wheelchair travel to enjoy trips with their loved ones or with us as their companion!

We can accommodate two seated passengers with a wheelchair traveller or 4 seated passengers with plenty of boot space for mobility equipment or luggage.

We are trained and insured to assist clients in wheelchairs or those who need an arm to support them, so everyone can enjoy themselves with confidence.

Sunny day trips 🌞🌞

This week I enjoyed enabling clients to go to places they wanted to visit, including:

🐟🍟Fish and chips at Sandbay
☕️🍰Coffee and cake at Tyntesfield
🍹🎪Pims at the local village fete
🚂🥰A train ride down memory lane

We are a driving and companionship service and can enable people, who need a little extra support, to get out and about. Our vehicles are wheelchair accessible and we are trained and insured to assist clients who may be living with a disability or dementia.

I am particularly passionate about supporting people living with dementia.

I believe that individuals can still live well with a dementia diagnosis, especially if they continue to have the opportunity to socialise with others and remain active.

Both my parents-in-law had Alzheimer's and Vascular dementia in the final years of their lives, and through my experience of helping to care for them, I realised how important socialisation and activity was to their overall well being.

Through my service, I have been lucky to meet some amazing people who are living with dementia, and I tailor what we do to each individual to ensure that get the maximum enjoyment during our time together. Some of my clients enjoy shopping, some like to go for a coffee and complete a crossword or puzzle, some like to be outside and some like to attend groups where they can socialise with others. It's lovely to hear their stories and memories of the past, I have learnt so much from them!

If you know someone who has dementia and would like to get out more often ( giving their main carer a short rest at the same time) get in touch.
