Flying long-haul with kids aged 5-12 — the honest guide (Part 2) ✈️

Different stage, different challenges. Here’s what actually works for us:

📲 Download content the night before — don’t rely on the seatback screen
🎲 Plan boredom-busters before you’re at the airport, not when it hits
🎁 Wrap a few small new toys and bring them out one at a time through the flight
🌙 Overnight legs rarely go to plan — go low-stimulation, not lights-out

If you found this useful, follow me — I share this kind of practical travel-with-kids content every week.

Missed Part 1 (ages 0-5)? It’s pinned on my profile 👆

🚢✨ Our Disney Magic Alaska itinerary — and I am obsessed with how this trip is shaping up.

7 nights sailing from Vancouver through some of the most breathtaking scenery on earth. Glaciers, whales, Gold Rush towns, and a Frozen-themed evening somewhere in the middle of it all. Oh, and a Royal Court Afternoon Tea. Obviously.

The best bit about a Disney cruise? The onboard experience is so incredible that choosing between staying on the ship and going ashore is genuinely difficult. There are so many amazing excursion options — we’re already debating swapping our Skagway plans for a wildlife exploration by RIB boat — and that’s before you factor in the shows, the pools, the waterslides, and all the little details that make Disney do this so well.

This is still very much a working itinerary (Disney can change things too — always worth knowing that itineraries are subject to change!), but the excitement is very real.

If an Alaska Disney cruise is on your wishlist, drop me a message — I’d love to help you plan yours. 🏔️🐋

📍 Vancouver → Glacier Viewing → Skagway → Icy Strait Point → Ketchikan → Vancouver

Long-haul with a toddler doesn’t have to be the horror story everyone warns you about 🙈

Four things that genuinely changed how I fly with little ones — including the layover detail most people don’t think about until it’s too late.

Part 2 (ages 5–12) coming soon — follow me so you don’t miss it ✈️

Save this and send it to a mum who’s about to brave a long-haul for the first time 💛

10 weeks until we sail on the Disney Magic to Alaska — and I am deep in the planning bubble. 🚢

Excursion windows, onboard bookings, Vinted dress hauls… it’s a lot. But this is exactly the kind of detail that makes the trip once you’re on board.

If you’re planning a Disney Cruise, save this — the excursion windows move faster than you’d think.

Full Alaska itinerary breakdown coming later this week. Follow along so you don’t miss it. 🌊

Planning a Lapland trip with your kids? Save this. 🌌❄️

Whether you’re thinking Christmas magic or chasing the Northern Lights, Lapland is one of those trips that genuinely changes a family. Husky safaris, reindeer rides, a private visit to Santa in the actual Arctic — not a shopping centre grotto — and falling asleep under the aurora.

But getting it right comes down to knowing where to stay, when to go, and who to book with. That’s exactly what this guide covers. 👆 Swipe through.

I work with Not in the Guidebooks — one of the best specialist Lapland suppliers out there — so I can get your family into experiences and accommodation that most people simply don’t know exist.

Packages start from around £1,060pp and include full-board dining, all excursions, and airport transfers. December dates are already selling fast for 2026 and 2027.

DM me LAPLAND and I’ll put together options tailored to your family, your budget, and your dates. Completely free. 🎅

An underground wine cellar. In the Maldives. 🍷

This place is foodie heaven.

Two clients — best friends living worlds apart, one flying from the UK, one from Australia — met here. That’s friendship goals right there.

Here’s what makes Gili Lankanfushi stand out:
🥂 Bespoke sunset cocktails on the deck
🍷 A gourmet dinner in an underground wine cellar with sommelier-selected pairings
🔥 Tableside flambé. Outdoors. With that lagoon behind you.
🐟 An open fire grill every evening that takes food very seriously

One honest thing: it’s not cheap. But it might be less than you think — 7 nights including flights from Manchester, speedboat transfer and breakfast comes in from £4,044 per person.

If you’ve got a reunion trip, a big birthday, or a ‘we keep saying we’ll do it’ holiday that needs actually doing — this is it. DM me and I’ll make it happen. 🙋‍♀️

Save this post if you’ve got a best friend who needs sending this. 👇

Our Disney Cruise excursion booking window opens THIS Saturday 👀

For first-time Disney sailors, your window opens 75 days before you sail — which means 5am Saturday for us (midnight Eastern, if you’re wondering why I’ll be setting a very early alarm 😅)

We’re keeping excursions fairly minimal this trip — Alaska from the ship alone is going to be incredible, and Olivia is going to be completely consumed by princesses before we even think about getting off 😂

But there’s one I really want: a guaranteed whale watch at Icy Strait Point. Orcas. Humpbacks. A refund if you don’t see one. I need it.

Fingers crossed it’s still available when our window opens. I’ll update you next week 🤞

Follow along — I’ll be sharing everything as we count down to sailing day 🚢

The #1 reason people don’t reach out to me? They assume it’ll cost more. 💸

I’ll be totally honest.. sometimes it does. But swipe to see why that’s usually not the case — and why more and more families are ditching the DIY booking stress for good.

Save this for the next time someone tells you to “just use Expedia” 😉
