Story time - why it matters who you book with. We met a lovely couple on the transfer to Bush Camp Chiang Mai. They went into a high street store and booked their hols.

They were given incorrect advice, now that’s not my issue, we are all human and mistakes happen. It was what happened afterwards that could have been avoided.

They had 1.5hr to connect but missed their flight. Once they realised their error, they were desperately calling the agency, getting hung up on and waiting on call centre queues.

It’s often not until something goes wrong that you see the benefit of booking with a small independent agent. We have the same itineraries, in most cases same prices, but the level of service you get can be vast.

When you visit a hotel on a “FAM” trip, walk through the door and immediately think of a client. That’s what happened earlier this year when I visited the most amazing hotel in Istanbul!

And here they are, booked as a surprise for her 40th birthday, the hotel really helped make it a special day!

Having clients book with me again and again makes my job so much easier, so much of this job is subjective. What one person defines as luxury isn’t another’s idea of luxury, getting to know my clients and what they like makes this job literally the best in the world!

Also getting amazing hotel and ground staff contacts helps even more, it’s not what you know it’s who you know! #

🇹🇭 Sleeper trains, street food and five-star luxury… our latest Thailand adventure!

We wanted to really experience Thailand’s culture, but we do also like the finer things in life! So we combined a G Adventures small group tour with some incredible luxury stays and what a combination.

Our adventure included an overnight sleeper train, countless beautiful temples, the Bridge over the River Kwai and the historic “Death Railway”. We learnt about the Golden Triangle’s o***m trade, spent two memorable nights at The Bush Camp Chiang Mai, and visited the extraordinary Anantara Golden Triangle. The setting alone is enough to leave you speechless.

We’ve also eaten plenty of delicious street food, I think we’re now about 90% rice and noodles! 🍜

If you love exploring but also appreciate a beautiful hotel, you can absolutely have both. Small group touring can be one part of a bespoke holiday, with luxury stays and perhaps some beach time added along the way.
