Royal Rajasthan Recce: Impressive Mehrangarth Fort today sitting 122m high above Jodhpur. Initially built in 1459 it was then added to by successive rulers of Jodhpur up until the 18th century. Extensive views across the plains below and facinsting museum containing art, weapons and collection of ceremonial chairs that sit on top of an elephant called a Howdah

On our way from Ranthambore we were saddened to hear that Shriji Arvind Singh Ji Mewar, the Maharana of Udaipur, had passed away. He was a great man for the people and we count ourselves lucky to have been his guest on a number of occasions. Shriji was also a true historic vehicle enthusiast and established one of India’s earliest historic vehicle museums in Udaipur. The 25 or so vehicles in this fabulous collection have all been meticulously restored and have been in the Mewar family for generations. Shriji’s personal favourite for everyday use was the red 1946 MG TC seen here.
Our heartfelt condolences to the esteemed Mewar Royal Family and our thoughts are with them at this time of profound loss.
