We're always amazed how long our kids are entertained for, away from their screens, with very little cost. Pack a picnic, take some games, hunt for shells, paddle/swim, ...to name just a few.

Sharing great places to visit in Norfolk is an important part of welcoming our guests.

This is How Hill Nature Reserve on the Norfolk Broads.

With families in mind this nature reserve offers free easy parking, large grassed area for picnic & games, small museum, short circular walk and boat trip. Plus the essentials - cafe and toilets.

The boat trip takes you places you wouldn’t ordinarily see with a stop off at a bird hide where we saw this beautiful heron and great white egret. (May/June is apparently the best time if you wanted to see more birds.) We also spotted Norfolk’s iconic swallowtail butterflies. There were lots of dragonflies too.

Small donation for the walking trail and map. Boat trip was £12 per adult for a 50 minute boat trip but they offer cheaper child and family tickets.

We would highly recommend a visit!
