What a way to end an incredible week. 🎉🥾
Today these amazing ladies reached Fort William with Rayofsun_adventures, completing all 96 miles of the West Highland Way. From the first steps in Milngavie to that iconic finish marker in Fort William, they’ve walked through some of Scotland’s most breathtaking landscapes, tackled every climb, embraced every challenge, and kept putting one foot in front of the other.
Although my son and I couldn’t stay to see them cross the finish line in person (he was very keen to get home to see his dad, and I couldn’t argue with that ❤️), I felt such a surge of joy when the messages came through: “We made it!”
After spending the week supporting the group, ferrying heavy bags to each next stop, and exploring this spectacular corner of Scotland with my boy, it felt like a victory for all of us. But the real achievement belongs to these incredible women.
A special mention must also go to one member of the group whose adventure was cut short by a very painful blister. Having to stop on day two was heartbreaking, especially after all the preparation and excitement leading up to the trip. While she didn’t make it all the way to Fort William on foot, she was very much part of this journey, and we hope she’ll get the chance to return and conquer the rest of the Way in the future. 💚
I can only imagine how elated everyone felt standing at that finish marker before celebrating together over a well-earned evening meal. The sore feet, the laughs, the blisters, the breathtaking views, the friendships forged along the way — all leading to that moment.
Congratulations to every one of you. Whether you completed all 96 miles or had to stop sooner than planned, you’ve shown courage, determination and resilience, and it’s been a privilege to be part of your adventure. 💚🏴
We’re already planning next year - camping with bag transfers in May and hostels / B&B stays in September - want in on the adventure let us know 🙌
