Dover District Council and Folkestone and Hythe District Council, together with waste contractor Veolia, have launched the Love Your Beach campaign with a range of initiatives to raise awareness and help keep beaches clean along our beautiful coastline.

As part of the initiative, there's an e-bike collection vehicle which will empty bins along the Deal and Walmer promenade, five new compactor bins in the Deal and Walmer area and two bulk bins on Deal Pier. The summer beach cleaners from Veolia have also started daily beach cleans on the beach areas between Kingsdown and Deal.

Please help to keep our beaches clean this summer for everyone to enjoy. Thank you.

If you are travelling to the Port of Dover to catch a ferry on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 May in particular, please be prepared for delays. Agencies will be working hard to keep traffic moving.

‼️ The next few days are expected to be busier than usual with cross-channel traffic as schools break up and people head off on their holidays.

We know this can impact residents and businesses in Dover when the town becomes congested and we understand how frustrating this can be.

We are not responsible for roads, but we work closely with the community and do all we can to offer support and advice.

Partners of the Kent and Medway Resilience Forum are working together to respond to the busy travel period and keep disruption to a minimum.

We're very excited to welcome Canoe Wild to White Cliffs Country. They will be running guided sea kayak tours from Kingsdown Beach exploring the coast to the north (to St Margaret's Bay and Langdon Bay) or south (Walmer Castle and Deal Pier) depending on the tide. There are tours for beginners, families (children must be aged 14+) and experienced kayakers.
This is a fantastic way to experience our dramatic coastline from a completely different perspective.
