If you're planning a visit to watch the filming of Landscape Artist of the Year on the White Cliffs next Thursday, how about extending your time here to visit some of the other amazing places nearby. From majestic Dover Castle to the magnificent Maison Dieu Dover, the Dover Museum & Bronze Age Boat Gallery and The Roman Painted House Dover, there is so much to explore.

Sky Arts' Landscape Artist of the Year is coming to the White Cliffs of Dover!
Join the team on Thursday 12 June for an exciting day as filming of this heat takes place. The Visitor Centre will be on extended opening hours from 7am to 7pm and Fan Bay Deep Shelter and South Foreland Lighthouse will be open specially.
There'll be lots to see, with two events running simultaneously - 8 qualifying competitors, who will be housed in 'pods'; plus a Wildcard competition with 50 entrants, chosen from the applicants who didn't qualify. Judging takes place between 4.15-5.55pm and the winners are announced at 6pm.
The National Trust's additional parking area will be open from 10am with a shuttle bus running to/from White Cliffs Coach Park Ramp from 11am. Last departure from the coach park ramp is 6.45pm.

Please plan ahead if you are catching a ferry from Dover this weekend:

❗️ This weekend (23-26 May) is expected to be busier than usual with cross-Channel traffic as people head off for the Bank Holiday and half term break.
We know how frustrating it can be when the roads around the town become congested and measures are in place to manage the traffic.
Kent County Council and National Highways: South-East are responsible for roads, and DDC works closely with them, our other partners and the community to offer support and advice.

We also have a dedicated page on our website where you can find up-to-date information including how traffic is being managed and links to key services in the event of disruption.
