Places for the first walk 13th September for the new season are filling up fast. But don't worry as there are more Date's available for Walking with the Ghosts of Durham
September 16th 18th 20th 23rd 25th 30th.
October 2nd 4th 7th 9th 11th 14th 16th 18th 20th 21st 22nd 24th 25th 26th 27th 28th 29th 30th 31st.
All walks need to be booked in advance they start at 7pm meeting at National Trust Crookhall Durham Riverside Frankland Ln Sidegate DH1 5SZ.
Advisory age 10years plus all children upto and including 16year olds must be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian.
Price £5 per person pay on the night.

Our Story

The Johnson family ancestors have been at Low Urpeth since 1816, the present house being built about 1898.

Originally it was colliery stables (and Katie’s Cottage was a cart shed) with the wagon way running on the south side of the farm. Katie’s Cottage, which was named after the family black Labrador, opened in 1994 while the Bungalow was built in the early 1960’s and converted into a holiday cottage in 2001. The Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast was first opened in 1988. Low Urpeth is a family run working arable farm.

A warm welcome awaits you here at Low Urpeth Farm whether your stay is in one of our Self Catering Holiday Cottages or the Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast – it’s a special relaxing experience in the countryside of

Durham, only 3 miles from Beamish Museum, and close to Durham City, Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Washington (15 to 20 mins drive) and a little further afield Northumberland.
