Due to the warm Gulf Stream, Lofoten has a much milder climate than other parts of the world at the same latitude. Between late May and mid July you can experience the midnight sun, whilst the northern lights can be viewed from September to mid April.

Fishing has been, and still is, the reason why people have lived here, and the region is known for its many small fishing villages. Stay in a Rorbu – an old fishermen’s cabin – and try eating skrei, the Arctic cod, and stockfish, dried cod.

In Nusfjord you can find most of the buildings which were part of one of Norway's leading fish buying stations of its time. Nusfjord has an intertwining building area, which evolved at the end of the 19th-Century and the beginning of the 20th-Century.

Stonewall and Pride in London will hold a vigil in Soho Square tomorrow from 7pm to remember those killed and injured in Saturday night's attack on Berlin's Christopher Street Day.

We stand in solidarity with LGBTQ+ people in Berlin and around the world, and invite you to join us as we show that an attack on any one of us is an attack on all of us. Pride is a celebration, but it is also a powerful expression of visibility, unity and hope.

Please join us tomorrow for speeches and a choral tribute as we stand together, support one another and reaffirm that hate will never silence our community.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that unfolded during Berlin Pride (Christopher Street Day).

Our hearts are with those who lost loved ones, everyone who was injured, their families, first responders, organizers, and the entire LGBTQIA+ community whose day of celebration was marked by tragedy.

Pride has always stood for visibility, dignity, resilience, and the fundamental belief that every person deserves to live authentically, safely, and without fear.
