☀️ GUESS WHO’S BACK?!? 🇮🇨

After a very scorchio week in Gran Canaria, with temperatures ranging from around 30°C to a rather sweaty 42°C, I never thought I’d say this... but I’m slightly relieved to be back somewhere cooler! 😂

That’s the joy of being Scottish. Hubby strongly disagrees and would quite happily still be melting by the pool.

This time we stayed in Playa del Inglés at the Akeah Broncemar and, for the first time ever, went All Inclusive. No cash required at the bar? Definite perk! 🍹 But we’ve realised we’re probably not All Inclusive people. We love getting out, exploring and trying different restaurants far too much.

And, of course, there was important research to be done into where to find the best piña colada and mojito. 😉

A few of our favourites from the week:

🛍️ Playa del Inglés Market – Great for a wander, plenty of clothes, trinkets and potential bargains if you’re ready to barter. Every Saturday & Wednesday, just outside our hotel.

🚂 Mini Train – We can’t resist a mini train! €6 per adult and a fun way to get your bearings.

🐬 Boat Trip from Puerto Rico – Not much luck with the whales or dolphins this time, but seeing silver flying fish skimming and flying across the water was incredible!

⛳ Atlantico Mini Golf – So good we went twice! My tip? Go after sunset when it’s cooler... and the cocktail menu starts after 5pm. Purely coincidental, obviously. 🍹

🌈 Yumbo Centre – We only discovered this on our last night and wished we’d found it sooner. Loads of bars, restaurants and shops, many LGBTQ+ friendly, and it really comes alive at night.

🎶 Mulligans Irish Bar – Brilliant atmosphere, live music, lovely food, friendly staff and good drinks. Definitely one of our favourites.

So that’s Gran Canaria done for another trip, the suitcase is unpacked and it’s back to helping everyone else with their holidays!

Oh well... only another 58 days until I’m off to Türkiye for a work conference. Such a hard job being a travel agent!! 😂✈️
