Our first full year at Owls Nest Barn has finished! 📣

What a year it’s been! We’ve met so many lovely guests along the way. A huge thank you to all our guests for coming to explore this part of the Cotswolds and choosing Owls Nest Barn!

(Our daughter was one this weekend - so seemed a great excuse to borrow her balloon for 10 minutes 😄)

Going to see the at in Painswick is an absolute guest favourite and highly recommended if you are coming to stay with us over the next couple of months.

Ready for a sustainable staycation? 🌳 ☀️

We thought we’d let you know about a few of the choices we made when renovating Owls Nest Barn last year to make it as environmentally friendly as possible.

🏡 Very well insulated throughout the walls, floors and in the roof

♨️Efficient Underfloor Heating throughout the ground floor

💡LED lighting to conserve energy ✨

🪵 Locally sourced wood for the wood burner

♻️ Recycling for guests waste

🦉 Across the farm we like to do our bit for nature! A great example of this is the owl box we have up in one of the trees. We also can be found planting hedge plants in the winter too!

This is Harescombe Fisheries based on the same farm as Owls Nest Barn! Why not come and stay and bring your fishing rods too? There are three pleasure anglers lakes at the complex.

It’s open year round and has a great cafe open everyday as well. What would be better than a day in the fresh countryside air followed by trip to one of the many local pubs for dinner?

What do you think of Clarkson’s Farm? 📺

This is one of the most asked questions we get from guests and we think it’s great!

Not only does it highlight what goes on British Farms throughout the year, it also highlights some of the challenges we face and how we overcome them! Most importantly it gets the conversation about where your food comes from started within families across the country and beyond!

We are based around an hour’s drive from Diddley Squat Farm and would definitely recommend a visit whilst out on a day trip around the Cotswolds when staying with us at Owls Nest Barn.

Fire up the 🚜 Jeremy Clarkson - we’ll be watching series 3 which starts tomorrow!

The pictures are of our farm’s dairy herd which are back out day and nights in the valley around the farm, producing very sustainable milk all year round which will be made into cheese for Wyke Farms

🎉 This morning we were finally able to let out our dairy cows for spring! It’s much later than most years because of all the rain we’ve had!

Some of the cows have muddy faces from all of their celebrations for being back out again! 🎉

Meanwhile at the Barn… We’ve had some lovely guests staying this weekend who left this morning and we are now ready for this weeks guests who are checking in shortly! 🙌
