Such a shame about our beautiful area. Please take great care when out and about on the North York Moors.

As you can imagine, we are still on extreme fire risk in the North York Moors National Park and need your help to protect this special place from any further destruction.

You must NOT:
❌ Discard ci******es or matches anywhere, including from car windows along any road. Even a tiny spark can start an uncontrollable blaze.
❌ Light barbecues or campfires in the National Park, surrounding gardens, allotments, lay-bys, or any nearby open land or forest.
❌ Leave glass bottles or reflective litter, sunlight can ignite dry vegetation through them.

Please always be vigilant and challenge unsafe behaviour where you see it and set the right example.

A huge thank you to all who are working hard to stop the ongoing fire.
