A gentle reminder to slow down and look out for the wildlife around us 💛

We gave this little song thrush a helping hand yesterday.
Neil noticed it stunned in the road as we were driving home. So we gently encouraged it to go somewhere safe. After a few minutes it flew into the hedge and sat there looking bright-eyed and much more with it.

Welsh Reccie – Final Day
Our last day on this adventure — and what a way to finish.
Technical rock climbs and testing lines keeping us on our toes.
Defeated by waist-high, fast-flowing water (sometimes the sensible call is the only call).
And an absolutely stunning journey back to round it all off.
Challenge, restraint, and epic scenery — Wales at its finest.

Today was all about challenging river crossings and astounding scenery.
Tumbling waterfalls around every bend.
And the best surprise of all — bumping into someone we haven’t seen for nine years.
Wales always has a way of making days unforgettable.

Ancient Roman roads, old forts, and gold mines weaving history into the drive.
A slower pace, big landscapes, and lanes steeped in time.

A late-night arrival through extremely flooded Welsh roads set the tone.
This morning we’re heading up into the hills, rediscovering lanes we haven’t driven in 10 years.
Wales doing what Wales does best.

Many of you may have already seen my beautiful friend Jane Harding’s post sharing the heartbreaking news that her partner, Mark, passed away suddenly on Christmas Eve.
Those of us who know Jane through the painting community—and as a friend—know just how much love, care, and quiet support Mark gave behind the scenes. In the midst of unimaginable grief, Jane is now also facing the reality of everyday bills and the pressure of needing to keep going.
We’ve set up this fundraiser to help ease that immediate financial strain and give Jane some breathing space in the months ahead.

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of one of our sons at Impala, Mark Birch, who passed away following a heart attack.
Mark’s spirit was an enormous part of the Impala team. The strong, calm, and professional way he carried himself throughout our adventures will be sorely missed.
He truly epitomised our “spirit of adventure".
