I always like to find a property with style as well as service and did just that. It had great Arr Deco styling and was placed just 15mins walk from the Ouchy promenade in one direction and 15mins in the other from the old town whilst being just a five minute walk from the station. The Ouchy promenade was around 15mins walk from our hotel. This is where the ferries leave from and where you can hire the pedal cars on the lake. We walked up to the old town to visit the Cathedral, it’s a beautiful building, with the stained glass that you would expect, but the inside was quite plain. It’s a gothic building with stunning views if you climb the 224 steps to the bell tower. As a reformed church many of the statues, paintings and altars were moved to Bern, hence the modern appearance inside.

Lausanne, a city by the lake … so lots of water activities on offer. From here you can reach several lake towns in both France and Switzerland. Some of the local services run every 15minutes. You can also still take the historic paddle steamers along the scenic shoreline for longer journeys. These vessels have stylish art nouveau dining rooms, outdoor decks to view the lakeside vineyards and full restaurant and bar service serving local food and wine.

It’s that time of the year again! Anyone who has piles of old paper bills, bank statements or work documents cluttering up the house or office - take them down to the Shredpoint collection point and have them shredded for a donation. Local Watford charities will benefit - no need to take out staples or take off spiral binders - their industrial shredder will cut through them like butter!
