Sarah Price

I am a professional & experienced Walking Guide - leading walks in the Brecon Beacons, Wales, & Herefordshire - Event Group Walks & Bespoke Privately Guided Walks - For groups, couples, locals, tourists, families, friends, solo travelers, or a businesses. We have Castles, Forests, Dingles, the Mighty Wye River, Ancient Stones, Sculptures, and Stunning Views of the Black Mountains & the Brecon Beacons National Park. I am passionate about introducing others to the stunning countryside around my local area here in the Brecon Beacons. Being out there in nature with others sharing in the experience together is a powerful, healing & sometimes, transformative experience, with positive affects. I am a qualified Lowland walk leader, & qualified in Outdoor First aid, so you can relax & let me lead you knowing your in safe hands. There is so much history & beauty to discover here, and I will do my best to make each walk as informative, friendly, & as enjoyable as possible. I specialise in leading walks in the valleys & hills, rather than the mountains, as I understand that many people who want to walk whilst they visit the area, don't necessarily want to climb the mountains. Perhaps you have children with you, or feel you aren't capable of mountain terrain, or are not confident with maps. If you have never walked in the countryside before, or if you walk regularly, you are all very welcome.

HAY-ON-WYE BUSINESSES – I’D LOVE YOUR HELP! ❤️

Something new has arrived in Hay, and I’m hoping local businesses will help me spread the word.

I’ve created the Hay-on-Wye History Hunt, a self-guided digital treasure hunt that takes visitors on a 2.5km adventure through the town, solving clues, discovering real locations and uncovering fascinating snippets of Hay’s history.

Why did I create it?

Because Hay has so much more to offer visitors than its bookshops.

We have centuries of history, fascinating buildings, hidden corners and wonderful stories, but visitors don’t always know what they’re looking at or where to find them.

The History Hunt is designed to give people a fun reason to explore further.

20 clues to solve
🚶 2.5km around the town
📱 Played on your phone
Interesting local history to discover
Points to earn and friends to compete against
Suitable for families, couples and groups

It starts beside the large carved Dragon at the top of the main car park.

❤️ CAN LOCAL BUSINESSES HELP?

I’ve had some small QR-code window stickers and flyers printed, and I’d love to get them into businesses around Hay.

So, if you run a shop, café, gallery, pub, accommodation, attraction or other local business, would you consider:

📍 Displaying a small sticker in your window
📍 Keeping a few flyers where visitors can see them
📍 Recommending the Hunt when visitors ask what there is to do in Hay
📍 Sharing this post with your own followers

It doesn't need to be a huge commitment.

Even simply being able to say:

“There’s a new history treasure hunt around Hay, it starts by the Dragon in the main car park.”

could introduce the Hunt to someone who might otherwise never know it exists.

I’m really hoping this can become something positive for Hay as a whole – another reason for visitors to explore the town, stay a little longer and discover more of what makes our town so special.

I’ve attached/linked more information about the Hunt below.

👀 Something new is coming to Hay-on-Wye…

We all know Hay as the Town of Books.

But how much do we really know about the town itself?

There are stories tucked into its streets, hidden around its buildings and waiting in places that thousands of visitors pass every year without noticing.

And that got me thinking…

What if exploring Hay could be a little more exciting?

What if instead of simply wandering around, you had clues to follow, mysteries to solve and fascinating bits of history to uncover along the way?

I’ve been working on exactly that.

The Hay-on-Wye History Hunt is a new self-guided adventure around the town, combining local history, exploration and a bit of treasure-hunt fun.

It’s nearly ready to launch, and I can't wait to share it with you.

Would you be up for seeing Hay from a completely different perspective?

There’s a new way to explore Hay-on-Wye coming…
We all know Hay as the world-famous Town of Books.

But how much do you really know about the town itself?

The hidden corners.
The medieval streets.
The stories behind the buildings.
The characters who helped make Hay what it is.

I’ve been working on something rather exciting…

🗺️ A self-guided Hay-on-Wye History Hunt.

Part treasure hunt.
Part walking tour.
Part history lesson.
And hopefully, a lot of fun.

Coming very soon…

Who fancies seeing Hay from a completely different perspective?
