In 2014 the we, BECKs Training run be Tony and Linda Beck, purchased The Former Dale Hotel, a property that has been unused since 2003 and converted part of it into the Allendale bunkhouse, offering accommodation for up to 38 guests and thus allowing BECKs Training Limited to take on large youth group bookings of up to 80 guests over the summer months, combining the capacity of Deneholme and the Allendale Bunkhouse.

As the business turned away bookings of smaller groups, i.e. 2-6 guests on an almost daily basis it was decided to refurbish another part of the Dale Hotel into the Dale Cottage, a holiday property accommodating up to 6 people. This property has been up since 2015 and has occupancy rates of over 90%. Following that success, a further holiday let property, The Dale Townhouse, has been developed in 2018 on the site next to the Dale Cottage which will also accommodate up to 6 people and can be hired together with the Dale Cottage or individually.

Analysing the large volume of bookings that we cannot fulfil due to lack of capacity, we have identified that we need a group accommodation venue of a higher standard (boutique style, ensuite, double and family rooms) accommodating between 12 and 18 guests. This property will not be used to house additional youth groups but instead follow the trend of private groups hiring exclusive holiday houses for celebrations, themed holidays (spa, heritage, dark skies, adventure, culinary) and reunions.

The aim of this project, The Dale Manor, is to complete the next step in the re-development of the derelict Dale Hotel, which is key to the long-term objective of our business to maintain our position as the best and most diverse provider of quality group accommodation in the Allen Valleys, increasing visitor numbers throughout the year, safeguarding the position of our business and staff.
