Based in the heart of Hadrian’s Wall country, we create fun, inclusive and fully tailored tours shaped around your interests and pace, from relaxed 3-mile wanders to epic multi-day hikes. Claire is an outdoor enthusiast, certified first aider, and trainee Mountain Leader with a deep love for exploring both the familiar and hidden corners of Northumberland. She’s passionate about creating unique, w

elcoming tours that make everyone feel at home, weaving together stories that bring the rich history and natural beauty of the area to life. When she’s not out exploring, Claire’s likely adding to her growing collection of books she’ll definitely read one day, sampling local craft beers, or diving into creative projects—always ready for the next adventure! Originally from Yorkshire, Katie ventured into the “proper North” in 2002 and quickly fell for the sweeping horizons, rugged scenery, and rich heritage of Northumberland—and she’s called it home ever since. With a background in sports coaching and as a run leader at her local club, Katie loves supporting people of all abilities on their journeys, creating tours that are inclusive, fun, and full of discovery. Always up for an adventure, Katie is a fan of ultra races (especially the ones with plenty of snacks!). When she’s not on the trails in her trusty running shoes, you’ll find her dancing to country tunes in her cowboy boots, embracing the spirit of exploration every step of the way.

Look who’s turned three 🎂

My little walking bud, constant companion, professional snuggler, remover of toy stuffing, pup cup aficionado, best friend to all delivery people, and yak chew destroyer.

Never one to let a car, dog or random noise pass without alerting everyone in a mile radius.

Happy birthday, Buffy 🐾

Evangeline joined our Fort & Walk Tour as part of her solo adventure up north. What a blast we had!

After our walk, we gave Evangeline a few of our favourite local recommendations, including some perfect places to visit, explore and enjoy as a solo traveller.

Whether you’re travelling with friends, family or adventuring on your own, a Curius Compass guided walk is a brilliant way to explore Hadrian’s Wall.

Are we a little biased? Probably. Come and find out for yourself!

Get a head… get a hat to Walk Hadrian’s Wall. A brilliant gift from my bestest walking pal ahead of our Women Walk the Wall event. Wind proof, water proof, sun proof and a secret compartment… what does one put under one’s hat?

The first guests on our Fort & Walk Tour came all the way from Missouri, USA, and what a wonderful group to welcome.

Sarah, Chris and Catherine joined us for a relaxed exploration of Housesteads and Hadrian’s Wall, with a special toast on the Wall for Sarah, who was celebrating her 40th birthday.

And at 82 years young, mum Catherine proved that adventure really does have no age limit.

If you love the idea of exploring Hadrian’s Wall but prefer a shorter walk, our Fort & Walk Tour still packs in plenty. Roman history, sweeping views, stories and time out on the Wall. It’s a great option for explorers young and old.

Our afternoon Fort & Walk Experience starts at 1pm, making it easily accessible by bus from both Hexham and Haltwhistle.

Tetske joined Katie for a relaxed 2-mile guided walk along Hadrian’s Wall and an exploration of Housesteads Roman Fort, before heading to Edinburgh for the next part of her adventure up north.

If you want a walk with a serious wow factor, look no further 👇

Start at Cow Green Reservoir and head east along the road until you reach the gate for Moor House National Nature Reserve on your right. From there, follow the River Tees towards Cauldron Snout, with a little boulder-hopping along the river before reaching the spectacular waterfall.

Climb up beside Cauldron Snout, then pick up the road to complete this just-shy-of-8-mile loop.

Expect outstanding views, wild open landscapes, a bit of scrambling and one seriously impressive waterfall.

There’s a picnic area and portaloos next to the Cow Green Reservoir car park. Or, if you fancy a post-walk treat, head to in Allenheads for great coffee and quite possibly the best carrot cake 🥕

Mark planned a lovely surprise guided walk for Julie’s birthday, but Julie wanted to walk as much of Hadrian’s Wall as possible before and on her birthday!

They arrived for their guided walk having just completed our Highlights route, so Katie switched things up and took them on a completely different adventure, exploring east of Housesteads and north of the Wall along some of the lesser-walked paths.

A brilliant day out and back in time to catch the bus!

Every Hadrian’s Wall Highlights tour is private, which means we can adapt the route to suit you. Let us know in advance if you’re celebrating and we’ll even include a cheeky birthday cheers… Prosit! 🥂

Happy birthday, Julie!

A beautiful 7-mile loop from Hethpool, following the College Burn and taking in a little stretch of St Cuthbert’s Way.

Stopped for lunch at Hethpool Linn waterfall before continuing past the memorial dedicated to the servicemen who lost their lives in aircraft crashes in the Cheviots during WWII.

And we saw an adder! 🐍 Sadly, no photographic evidence because Sue, who is petrified of snakes, screamed and scared it off before we could get a photo.

This area is also famous for its herd of wild Cheviot goats 🐐

Finished the day with a second cuppa stop at

Waterfalls, history, beautiful trails, one fleeting adder and goats roaming the Cheviot hills, somewhere. A pretty brilliant day in
