A long but important message.....

Many people are wary to book direct and I can understand why. You do need to check the property exists and that who you are paying your money to are legitimate - google reviews and a google business page are good for this as people are unable to amend those reviews and google do check the property exists. I'm always happy to speak to people at the telephone and have sent a copy of bills for our houses, with my name and address on them too to people. Genuine owners are happy to do these things.

We have never used an agent, we loosely advertise on Airbnb so people can find us and they then contact us direct.
We do all our own changeovers, our own regular maintenance, decorating and laundry. We have planned maintenance weeks. Most importantly we actually care that your holiday is the best it can be and if you need us, you have our direct numbers. We very rarely get called, but if we are needed, we live 10 minutes away and always respond immediately.

My photo is a comment made by a guest who booked a cottage through a very well known agency- probably thinking it was safer to do so. A shocking reply for them and no help for their holiday

Paddleboarding on the sea can be so much fun. It's very different from the river. Here's Paul ..... I was on the shore keeping a beady eye out for his safety. If you're in the sea at Hornsea between about 8.30am and 6pm daily (check first) the NCI (national coastwatch institute) have a watch station just in front of the Marine Pub. They keep watch of comings and goings in the sea and shore and report anything untoward to the coastguard. We also have the Life guards on duty during the summer months. Lucky to be somewhere that looks out for everyone.
