We’re proud to have returned to Eidfjord for another beach clean, continuing our ongoing partnership with Visit Eidfjord. 🌊

Our team on board Borealis were back for another beach clean, with 21 crew members and one guest giving up some of their time to help look after the local coastline.

This was our fourth beach clean in Eidfjord in recent years, and it’s always lovely to be able to return and do our bit for a place we’re lucky enough to visit so often.

A big thank you to everyone who got stuck in and helped make a difference. 💙

Today, we're pleased to spotlight Almera Febe, Bar Waitress. 🛳️

'I began my journey with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines over 4 years ago. I chose to work at sea because it's so different and unique to other career paths. I'd also never travelled before, and this way, I can see the world! It's sometimes challenging, but so rewarding.

Working with Fred. Olsen is like a family - even though we're from different countries, we treat each other like family members. The guests are also very approachable.

In February this year, I was awarded Employee of the Month. This is one of my proudest achievements. My family was very proud of me. Lots of guests congratulated me, which I was really grateful for.

My favourite ports can be found in the Norwegian fjords or Northern Norway. I don't usually like the cold, but it is so different from home that I can't help but love to visit. I also really enjoy ports that we stay in overnight, so I can explore further with more time.

One of my favourite memories is sailing on a World Cruise. I loved going to the Caribbean islands during it. In terms of places I'd like to visit, Japan is top of my list.

Today, we are proud to spotlight I Ketut Astika. 🛳️

"I have worked for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines since August 2007 - next year, I will celebrate 20 years here! My first ship was Black Prince, working as a Galley Utility. Since then, with the help of my supervisors, I have worked my way up into my current role as Bar Manager - my biggest achievement.

A typical day in my life includes monitoring all bar and café operations to make sure we are providing the best possible service to our guests. I really enjoy my job, as I get to speak to our guests a lot, understanding their needs, and I also get to help my team where they need it.

I decided to work at sea after seeing my brother, uncle and some neighbours succeed as seafarers. Working on board has allowed me to share experiences with colleagues from other parts of the world. I've had the opportunity to visit some incredible places around the world.

Besides the satisfaction of receiving great feedback about our Bar service, one of my favourite things about working for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is seeing our guests happy during their holidays. I've also had the priviledge of being Employee of the Month three times, which is a great feeling.

My favourite place to cruise to is the Norwegian Fjords. I love waking up early to enjoy the fresh air out on deck - the air there is so clean, it helps to clear the mind. Somewhere I'd like to cruise to in the future? Japan and Alaska!"
