Part 2 of our Lake District Itinerary!

I can personally recommend both walks, especially on a clear day, you can see for miles!🏞️

Day 2’s walk is slightly challenging, however if you are a beginner or just looking for a shorter hike with lovely views, it’s worth a trip up to Stickle Tarn! It can get busy at times.☺️

Day 3’s walk is a quieter option, and can be attempted from either Troutbeck or Kentmere! It is a steep trail, but has rewarding views over Kendal, Windermere, and as far as the Old man of Coniston! ⛰️

Our first attempt at an Itinerary! 😆

We know there is a lot to do in the Lakes, and 3 days may not even scratch the surface of activities that you want to plan and do, but we have put together a small checklist for first-time visitors! 📝

With a variety of local knowledge in our team, we are always looking to give out tips and recommendations to visitors ☺️

What events are we looking forward to next month? 😀

🐮 Westmorland County Show (9th & 10th): A fantastic day out and voted as one of the UK's favourite shows! Livestock shows, food and drink tents, over 400 trade stands, plus lots more!

🐏 Eskdale Show (26th): Home of the world champion Herdwick sheep!! A traditional agricultural event, including competitions, entertainment, livestock and much more.

🧑‍🍳 Taste Cumbra Cockermouth (26th & 27th): A free-to-attend day out, with producer stalls, demonstrations, street parties, fairground rides and again... lots more to discover.

🏰 Hutton-in-the-Forrest (Various dates): Hutton-in-the-Forrest will be hosting a variety of events in September, including an animal rescue dog show, an airfield walk and 'Apple Day'. Check their site for info!

Due to a number of new properties coming on board, Herdwick Cottages is looking for self-employed cleaners or an established cleaning team to support our holiday cottages in the Central Lakes (Ambleside area) and Kendal.

✅ Must be self-employed
✅ Must have your own Public Liability Insurance
✅ Reliable, professional, and able to maintain high standards of cleanliness
