🌞 Stevi Stafan & Virpazar / Lake Skadar 🌞

The next part of our trip headed further south in Montenegro having a 1 night stay in both Stevi Stafan & Virpazar which has been lovely!

Stevi Stafan is a famous fortified 15th-century island village connected to the Montenegro mainland. This is now a Aman Luxury resort and is only accessible for guests staying in the resort.

The pink beach on the left hand side of the island is a public beach and was so beautiful and clear! We stayed 1 night and had a beach day here but this could easily be visited just for a day.

If you do decide to stay there are restaurants in Stevi Stafan or we walked along the coastal path around 20 minute to Przno which has multiple sea front restaurants right along the beach which was lovely.

🤍 4*+ Hotel California - Based right by the beach looking out over Stevi Stafan this beautiful hotel has a private section of the beach as well.

We then headed inland and over the mountain passes to Virpazar the gateway to Lake Skadar. This is the largest lake in the Balkans and sits on the border of Montenegro & Albania. It’s a protected national park and we done a sunset boat trip which we booked through . Highly highly recommend this! It’s a family run business and so so good! The lake is beautiful & Milica was so knowledgable. The lake was 28°C which was lovely!!

We did choose to spend a night here in Virpazar on our way to Albania but again this could be done as a day trip from wherever you’re staying in Montenegro.

🌞 Kotor Bay / Dobrota🌞

Our next stop was Kotor which is around 30-45 minutes from Tivat Airport depending on traffic. We stayed 3 nights in Kotor and I would say it’s the perfect base for your Montenegro holiday if you want to be based in 1 place without moving around hotels. 3-7 Nights here would be ideal amount of time.

We choose to stay around a 10 min taxi from the Old town in an area called Dobrota and this is where I would recommend to people especially our hotel having a private beach area. We did also walk along the promenade to the old town which took around 35/40 mins.

Where do I even start with recommendations for Kotor there is so much to do around this area we loved it!

🍷Krakan Floating w**e bar - this is such a unique little bar in the bay of Kotor they age the w**e underwater in the sea for a year. You can swim from the bar and they make delicious seafood on here to 🦐

🚠 Kotor cable car & Alpine Coaster - we went up for sunset and went straight onto the alpine coaster before the queue was to big we also paid extra €8 for the fast track with these we queued around 15 mins total. The alpine coaster is fab and would recommend this! The views up the cable car are beautiful and there is a choice of restaurants up there as well.

🏰 Kotor Fortress Hike - reccomend starting this early before it gets to hot 🥵 views over Kotor bay are stunning! Cost €15pp

🛥️Kotor Bay boat trip - 4hr speedboat trip all around the bay with different swim stops and Visiting Perast , Lady of the Rocks , former submarine tunnels and blue caves!

🍽️ Explore the old town and all the lovely restaurants within the old town walls (avoid mid day when the cruise ships are in as it’s so busy)

🍽️ Moments Restaurant - Beautiful waterfront restaurant in Dobrota we booked here for my birthday and the food was so good 🤤 reccomend a roof top terrace gravel around sunset!

5* Huma Kotor Bay Hotel - We loved our stay here and would really recommend to anyone travelling to Kotor. We stayed in a Premium Sea view Suite and the views were amazing!
5* Hyatt Regency Kotor Bay - Slightly further out on the other side of the bay but another beautiful hotel.

We started our trip based in Porto Montenegro just 10 minutes from Tivat Airport a beautiful marina waterfront village full of restaurants & designer shops. The marina is home to some of the most luxury yachts in Montenegro and I’d definitely recommend a visit here or staying 1-3 nights I would say is the ideal amount of time.

🍹 Gourmet Corner at Regent Porto Montengeo - €9 Sunset spritz perfect place for some drinks at sunset!
🍽️ Forza Porto - Another lovely waterfront restaurant.

👙 Visit one of the beach clubs in the area

5* Regent Porto Montenegro - Waterfront Luxury right in the heart of Porto Montenegro.
4* Boko Neighbourhood - This a couple of minutes walk outside of the marina & waterfront village with a choice of 2 hotels & some apartments.

I’m back in work today from my holiday 🇮🇹 all messages & emails will be replied to today. Whilst away I have been made aware of some emails bouncing back and not been delivered if you have emailed me please resend so I don’t miss anything 💛

🇮🇹 24 Hours in Venice 🇮🇹
At the end of our trip we had 24 hours in Venice (until our flight cancellation 🫣)

We stayed at Hotel Principe in a Canal view room which was a beautiful hotel right on the Grand Canal and just a quick couple minute walk from the train station & where taxis / buses drop you off. You can also take the Alilaguna water bus from Venice airport to the city as well.

Venice is such a beautiful city we spent our time walking around the streets and over the bridges connecting the islands visiting bars and restaurants. There are so many shops and sights to see around the city and no visit to Venice is complete without seeing St Marks Square.

🚣🏻 We done a private 45 minute gondola ride which cost is €140 this took us along the Grand Canal into the narrow canals around St Marks Square. This is a must do in Venice and a beautiful way to see the city!

Our flight unfortunately got cancelled on Sunday night for us to get home so we had to make alternative arrangements from Verona yesterday! ✈️

Please keep an eye on my page for some holiday posts to the Dolomites & Venice as I would highly recommend this twin centre holiday! If your interested or want to know more information about these destinations please just get in touch 💛 For me the Dolomites was one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited and I can’t wait to go back and explore more! Unfortunately my flight has been cancelled home from Venice tonight so I will not be back in work as planned tomorrow (Monday 20th July)
We have had to travel to Verona to make alternative arrangements to fly home tomorrow & I’ll be back in work from Tuesday 21st July.

🇮🇹 Day 5 - Dolomites 🇮🇹
Our last day in this beautiful part of Italy! I am so sad to be leaving it behind and dropping our camper back off in Venice.

🥾 Today we started with an early morning walk around Lago Carezza, this only takes roughly 20-30 minutes and is very easy walk. The lake is a stunning blue colour with a mountain backdrop!

🧖‍♀️After 4 busy days and lots of hiking we booked in for Spa day at QC Dolomiti Spa which was just 20 minute drive from the lake and on our route back to Venice.
This cost us €60 for 5 hours from 9-2
Id recommend visiting here to have some chill time after a busy Dolomites itinerary! It got a lot busier as our time went on there but the spa is huge with so many different areas inside and outside.

🚐 This was the end of ur time in the Dolomites and we headed back to Venice to drop the campervan off. We are really happy with our decision to hire a camper for this trip, we had the total freedom to explore & slept in some beautiful places. Highly recommend downloading Park4Night app if you’re coming to the dolomites in a campervan, we found all of our parking , overnight spots & things like Grey Disposal etc using this app.

🇮🇹 Day 4 - Dolomites 🇮🇹
Today we woke up at Passo Sella and walked up to Rifugio Friedrich August for the famous viral doughnuts! We had seen this all over TikTok and they didn’t disappoint! Unfortunately when we started this morning we had bad weather so couldn’t sit outside and enjoy the views as this looks stunning to visit on a sunny day!
They open at 8am and usually sell out of the doughnuts in the first hour or so.

🚐 Next we drove to Ortesi & parked for the day in Setil Car Park which is the only place we found that fit camper vans in this was €3 per hour and right next to the gondola for Alpe Di Suisi. It was a couple of minutes walk into the resort centre and Highly recommend exploring Ortesi it’s a beautiful town.

🚠 We walked through the town and up to the Seceda Cable car this was €78 pp for a return ticket. The views up here are just unbelievable we had a hike around the view points and then went to Refugio on the mountain side and enjoyed Hugo spritz and some lovely food with a fabulous view over the mountains.

⛪️ Next we drove out to the village of Santa Maddalana for an evening hike to a viewpoint above Santa Magdalena Church which is a nice 3km loop walk with a couple of steeper sections. This is a popular place to watch the sunset over the mountains to!

🚐 Tonight we are staying at Lago Carezza park up which costs €27 for 12 hours overnight. We watched a beautiful sunset over the mountains and ready to walk around Lago Carezza in the morning 🌞
