🇮🇹🍋 Italy Recommendations - Sorrento & Amalfi Coast 🍋🇮🇹

I am just back from a short break in Sorrento we flew from Manchester with Jet2 and stayed 3 nights central in Sorrento.

This was just a flying visit but we made the most of the time we had there and I would recommend a short break however you could very easily stay a week or even longer! There is so much to do and see and it’s such a beautiful area 🇮🇹

🍝 Peninsula Experience Cooking Class - there’s so many different cooking classes available but we chose this one for its fun atmosphere! We made Eggplant Parmigiana, Gnocci & Tiramisu. It was about 20 mins from central Sorrento and they supply transport for an extra €10. This is a family ran experience visiting and cooking in there home with a beautiful sunset view! We paid €115

⛴️ Explore the Amalfi Coast & Islands by Ferry - we used the public ferry to visit Capri & Positano during our stay. We found this a great way to see these areas they were on time and we just booked our tickets the morning of however I do imagine in summer & peaks months you’ll want to prebook to get your desired times. There’s also so many boat trips available for what your looking for as well to visit these places.

🛍️ Capri Island was beautiful and has all your designer shops, lovely restaurants and beach clubs. We didn’t have the best of weather whilst we were there but explored around Capri Town & done a walk around the view points. It’s such a beautiful island. There is also a single seater chair lift that takes you from the centre of Anacapri up to Mount Salaro!

🍋 Positano - This was the only town we visited along the Amalfi coast due to time but it was stunning! We explored around the town and then had a beach day at L’Incanto which was lovely! It’s such a beautiful view from the beach looking at the town.

🇮🇹 Sorrento itself is such a lovely place and we thought it was the ideal base! Full of restaurants, bars & shops. There’s also Marina Grande which had lots of lovely seafood restaurants. You do have beach club areas in Sorrento as well but we never went to these due to time. Would recommend La Colonna Sunset Bar!

If we had longer we would have defiantly visited other towns along the Amalfi coast!

4* Conca Park Hotel - Just a short walk from Sorrento centre & Marina Grande. Great 4* option with a pool.

5* Ara Maris Hotel - We visited here and the hotel was so beautiful! In a fab location and great pool area.

There’s so many beautiful hotels in this area to suit different budgets & needs 🍋🇮🇹

✈️ Exciting news - Montenegro ✈️

After just spending 2 weeks in Montenegro at the end of August I am very pleased to see easyJet have a new route from Edinburgh starting summer 2027!

I loved Montenegro and this makes it even easier to visit flying twice weekly (Mondays & Thursdays) into Tivat with great flight times!

I am back in work this morning after my holiday to Montenegro & Albania 🇲🇪🇦🇱

Unfortunately we were caught up in the delays on our journey home and my suitcase went missing 😢 hoping it turns up over the next couple of days before I have my friends hen do!

It’s been a busy couple of weeks! When I landed home from holiday I was straight down to Liverpool to the Titanic Hotel for the North West Travel Agent Awards where I was a finalist for Homeworking Agent of the Year. What a great night we had and I was awarded with Highly Commended Homeworking Travel Agent of the year 🤩

This wouldn’t be possible without the support of my fantastic customers who continue to book there well deserved holidays with me 🫶

🇲🇪 MONTENEGRO RECOMMENDATIONS 🇲🇪
🌞 Stevi Stafan & Virpazar / Lake Skadar 🌞

The next part of our trip headed further south in Montenegro having a 1 night stay in both Stevi Stafan & Virpazar which has been lovely!

Stevi Stafan is a famous fortified 15th-century island village connected to the Montenegro mainland. This is now a Aman Luxury resort and is only accessible for guests staying in the resort.

The pink beach on the left hand side of the island is a public beach and was so beautiful and clear! We stayed 1 night and had a beach day here but this could easily be visited just for a day.

If you do decide to stay there are restaurants in Stevi Stafan or we walked along the coastal path around 20 minute to Przno which has multiple sea front restaurants right along the beach which was lovely.

🤍 4*+ Hotel California - Based right by the beach looking out over Stevi Stafan this beautiful hotel has a private section of the beach as well.

We then headed inland and over the mountain passes to Virpazar the gateway to Lake Skadar. This is the largest lake in the Balkans and sits on the border of Montenegro & Albania. It’s a protected national park and we done a sunset boat trip which we booked through . Highly highly recommend this! It’s a family run business and so so good! The lake is beautiful & Milica was so knowledgable. The lake was 28°C which was lovely!!

We did choose to spend a night here in Virpazar on our way to Albania but again this could be done as a day trip from wherever you’re staying in Montenegro.

🇲🇪 MONTENEGRO RECOMMENDATIONS 🇲🇪
🌞 Kotor Bay / Dobrota🌞

Our next stop was Kotor which is around 30-45 minutes from Tivat Airport depending on traffic. We stayed 3 nights in Kotor and I would say it’s the perfect base for your Montenegro holiday if you want to be based in 1 place without moving around hotels. 3-7 Nights here would be ideal amount of time.

We choose to stay around a 10 min taxi from the Old town in an area called Dobrota and this is where I would recommend to people especially our hotel having a private beach area. We did also walk along the promenade to the old town which took around 35/40 mins.

Where do I even start with recommendations for Kotor there is so much to do around this area we loved it!

🍷Krakan Floating w**e bar - this is such a unique little bar in the bay of Kotor they age the w**e underwater in the sea for a year. You can swim from the bar and they make delicious seafood on here to 🦐

🚠 Kotor cable car & Alpine Coaster - we went up for sunset and went straight onto the alpine coaster before the queue was to big we also paid extra €8 for the fast track with these we queued around 15 mins total. The alpine coaster is fab and would recommend this! The views up the cable car are beautiful and there is a choice of restaurants up there as well.

🏰 Kotor Fortress Hike - reccomend starting this early before it gets to hot 🥵 views over Kotor bay are stunning! Cost €15pp

🛥️Kotor Bay boat trip - 4hr speedboat trip all around the bay with different swim stops and Visiting Perast , Lady of the Rocks , former submarine tunnels and blue caves!

🍽️ Explore the old town and all the lovely restaurants within the old town walls (avoid mid day when the cruise ships are in as it’s so busy)

🍽️ Moments Restaurant - Beautiful waterfront restaurant in Dobrota we booked here for my birthday and the food was so good 🤤 reccomend a roof top terrace gravel around sunset!

5* Huma Kotor Bay Hotel - We loved our stay here and would really recommend to anyone travelling to Kotor. We stayed in a Premium Sea view Suite and the views were amazing!
5* Hyatt Regency Kotor Bay - Slightly further out on the other side of the bay but another beautiful hotel.
