Day Trips by Steam Train start from a number of locations in England & Wales and travel through scenic countryside to places of interest.

The Railway Touring Company has a long established reputation for providing an interesting variety of UK Day Trips by Steam Train and tours in the UK, Europe and Worldwide. The trains are specially chartered and each passenger travels in their own reserved seat. Each train offers a choice of seating options. The Premier Dining option is available on most trains for those who have a special occasion to celebrate or just wish to treat themselves to an unforgettable dining experience. UK tours are available for a few days or more than a week in duration. There is no better way to explore our island’s countryside than from the comfort of a railway carriage. Railways often follow routes that provide unrivalled scenery that cannot be viewed in any other way. Travel is normally in daylight with overnight accommodation in quality hotels. Our tours to Europe cover many of the countries of mainland Europe including Scandinavia. Increasingly, some of these tours make use of Eurostar trains to travel from England through the Channel Tunnel, an experience in itself. Many tours make use of specially chartered trains hauled by steam locomotives. Wherever possible, we make the most of photographic and filming opportunities so that tour participants can capture unique images of their rail tour. World Tours visit countries of the world where travel by train provides opportunities to see sights and visit places not often included in the tour itineraries of others. History, culture, adventure, a plethora of geographical features, social customs and gastronomic delights await those who join our Worldwide tours. Travel by train, often specially chartered and hauled by a steam locomotive, is the means by which we deliver experiences not to be missed and sometimes never to be repeated.
