Aurora — what a week! 🛳️

What a few days it’s been onboard P&O’s Aurora.

From getting settled into my cabin and sailing from Southampton, to training sessions with the P&O team, learning even more about the fleet and hearing from the amazing people who work onboard.

We’ve eaten our way around the ship (it would be rude not to 😂), enjoyed drinks, speciality dining, entertainment and plenty of exploring — and then had a brilliant day in Hamburg.

Miniatur Wunderland was definitely a highlight, along with exploring the city, soaking up a bit of German culture, finding some lovely bars and restaurants. Bruges was also a lovely stop with chocolate purchases on the way ……of course.

But honestly, one of the best parts of this trip has been the people.

The other agents and P&O team I’ve spent the week with have made it such a brilliant few days. Lots of laughs, great conversations, new friendships that will last.

Trips like this are a huge part of why I love what I do. You come away with so much more than just product knowledge — you come away with experiences you can genuinely pass on to my clients.

Aurora, you’ve been a pleasure. ❤️

And now… back to reality, the washing and the inbox!

Day 3 onboard Aurora 🚢🇩🇪

Started the day with breakfast at Medina, which is a lovely waiter-service breakfast rather than the usual buffet — a nice change and a very civilised way to start the day….especially as the day didn’t end up being as civilised 🥴

Then a bit of free time to get ready before heading out to explore Hamburg.

We took a P&O’s tour around some of Hamburg’s highlights, mixing the culture and history with some of the more colourful parts of the city. The Elbphilharmonie is seriously impressive, with its famous “Frozen Wave” architecture, and we also saw the beautiful Main Town Hall. Our tour guide was excellent, Very informative and helpful.

We also passed through the famous Red Light District, which is certainly a different side to Hamburg‼️
Lots of character, colourful streets and some really lovely bars and places to stop for a drink. It was nice to see how the city mixes the old, the cultural and the quirky all together — and Hamburg has such a relaxed, easy-going feel to it.

We also visited Miniatur Wunderland… but that place deserves a whole post of its own, so you’ll have to wait for the next one!

Back towards the port and Hamburg nightlife was starting to come alive. One thing I wasn’t expecting — the port literally leads you into a huge Westfield shopping centre. Not a bad place to finish a day of sightseeing!

Then back onboard for a silent disco with our fellow friends and colleagues, who we are lucky to be experiencing this beautiful ship and all it has to offer with. The silent disco sure gave plenty of laughs, questionable dancing and definitely a few sore heads in the morning! 😂🎧

And to top off a brilliant day… the mighty Hull FC beat Leeds! 🖤🤍

You can take the girl out of Hull… but you definitely can’t take Hull out of the girl! 😉

Days like this are exactly why I love cruising — you can wake up somewhere completely different, explore a new city and then come back to your ship and carry on the fun. If you fancy doing the same, you know where I am. 🚢

Day 2 onboard P&O Aurora 🚢

Early breakfast at the Horizon Buffet before a training session with the P&O team. Lots of learning about the whole fleet, plus a Q&A with some of the onboard staff — always useful to get the inside info to pass on to my clients.

Afternoon was spent exploring a little more, including a visit to the Champions Bar to see if they’ll be showing the Hull FC v Leeds rugby league. 🏉🖤🤍

You can take the girl out of Hull… 😂

Then some time in the gorgeous Anderson’s Bar, chatting to fellow passengers and hearing about their experiences onboard.

Celebration Night followed, so out came the glad rags! ✨ A lovely dinner in Alexandria Restaurant, followed by the karaoke bar…

And yes… I sang! 🎤😂
I’m not saying it was good, but I enjoyed myself! 🤣

Another brilliant day on Aurora. The more I see and experience for myself, the better I can help clients find the right cruise for them.

Then it was definitely time for bed, looking forward to waking up in Hamburg! 🇩🇪🚢

25 years on… 🕊️

I still remember exactly where I was and who I was with when the news of the attacks on 11th September 2001 reached us. In an instant, the world seemed to change.

New York means so much to me. It is my favourite city in the world, a place my family and I have returned to many times, creating memories that’ll stay with me forever.

Yet whenever I am there, beneath the energy and beauty of the city, I also feel the profound shadow of that day—the lives taken, the families shattered, and the countless people whose futures were changed forever.

Twenty-five years on, My heart hurts with remembrance.

Today, I honour all those who lost their lives, the families and friends who continue to carry their absence, and the extraordinary courage of the first responders and all who ran towards danger to help others.
Never forgotten. 🕊️🇺🇸

🚢 Day One on P&O Aurora 🚢

And we’re off! Yesterday was our first day onboard P&O Aurora and so far, so good, as mentioned she is the smallest of the P&O fleet but she is classy, traditional and an all round favourite for new and repeat clients.

Getting on at Southampton was really easy. There were plenty of staff around to point us in the right direction and we were onboard and settled in no time.

Our home for the trip is C108 on Deck 9 and first impressions are really good. See video of cabin tour to follow.

Before we sailed, we headed to the Horizon Buffet for a quick bite — and I have to say, the food was excellent. Plenty of choice and everything we tried was really tasty.

Then it was time for the evening drinks reception before having a wander around the ship, checking out a few more of the bars and, of course, having a look around the onboard shops. 🛍️

Dinner was at Sindhu, which is one of the speciality dining restaurants onboard, so there is a cover charge for dining here. It was absolutely delicious though — beautifully presented, full of flavour and plenty to suit different tastes. Definitely worth trying if you fancy something a little different.

By the time we’d eaten, explored and had a few drinks, we were ready for an early night!

Day one = very impressed so far.

🎸🚢THREE FULL DAYS LEFT IN THE OFFICE🚢🎸

And then it’s time to switch from travel counsellor mode to TC educational mode with a little bit of relaxation in there also! 😂

On 9th September I’ll be heading off on P&O Aurora for a familiarisation trip to learn more about what Aurora has to offer….keep posted for lives and updates as I go, but before that, I’ve got Bon Jovi at Wembley Stadium this weekend! 🎶
