A Nice wee Grilse for me this morning Cree, successful rods this week :- Martin Snaith , Kieran Snaith ( caught his first Salmon River Bladnoch ) …. and Ewan Keachie a grilse from Mochrum park 🎣🎣🎣

A grilse i had on Cree this morning. So far 7 Salmon landed this week- Tom Mc Inally party at the coach house have had one Mochrum park Bladnoch, 2 Cree Machermore, and my guest Smithy has had 3 on Mochrum Park river Bladnoch … could do with a bit more rain now 🎣🎣

A couple of Salmon for us today .. Ben Patmore staying in the coach house had a Grilse about 5lb on the Cree at Machermore and contacted another couple of fish, and Billy Ellis staying in Smithy had a Grilse about 5lb from Market Pool Mochrum Park - River Bladnoch. Now we have a bit of water lets hope for a few more fish. One of my guests last week lost a big fish on the Cree.

UPDATE- so far this week the chaps coach house - Tom Mc inally party had 2 cree and 1 mochrum park ..... and Billy Ellis in Smithy has had 3 from Mochrum park - R Bladnoch ..

A couple of dates have become available .. Sunday 24th -31 August Smithy - £370 pw (discounted) and Sunday 28 Sept - 5 October in coach house (sleeps 7) now £430 (discounted) - fishing also available.

Mochrum Park provides self catering holiday cottages in scotland with superb salmon fishing and golf available nearby.

Very pleased for Brian Hearns staying in Smithy cottage - he got another lovely 12lb salmon this morning from Mochrum park…. I went down kirwaugh this morning and got this lovely salmon about 9lb from the Ling 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣😃

Well done to Roddy who had this lovely springer this morning from the bridge pool Cree ( not my side but just opposite my fishing ) …. A cracking fish, I was looking over the bridge and saw him playing it so went down to help him net it. When we were putting it back we noticed its adipose fin was clipped, so definitely a hatchery fish … a very fine looking fish indeed !

At last we have a Spate ! We have not had an appreciable amount of water since about mid March ... No rain for the last 5 weeks at all. This will help the last of the Salmon Smolts to sea. This Spate will flush the w**d and dirt out and then we could do with another Spate to help the fish run ... Lets hope for more rain.

A few fish creeping through ... Jamie's has had 4 now (this is not from my beat on the Cree - it is about a mile up the river from my fishing). All the rivers could do with more water though .. its been a dry April. We have hooked a couple, but not a lot of luck so far. The quality of these early fish are the very best of the year though ...

We still have a few weeks available in the Lodge for June £340 per week. Also a few summer weeks still from £360 pw. Our cottages are also available with Salmon fishing, and all are a short walk from the River. So if its a fishing holiday or just a break in beautiful Galloway we are sure you will have a relaxing time.
