So do you have tickets to see the Bayeaux Tapestry at the British Museum? Members priority booking opens on 6th October 2026. However we have an event this evening at Leominster Priory!

Did you know that Bayeaux Tapestry features 620 men, 190 horses, 35 dogs, 37 buildings (including Mont-Saint-Michel), 41 ships and 3 women.

Really it's an embroidered cloth nearly 70 metres (230 feet) long and 50 centimetres (20 inches) tall. It consists of 58 scenes embroidered on linen with coloured woollen yarns with Latin writing.

Come along to hear what Gut Cole has to say about the Bayeaux Tapestry this evening at Leominster Priory.

'Stitched Stories' is our first talk on Thursday 10th September 6.00 pm at Leominster Priory.

Tickets are £5 and can be purchased on the door or in advance from Leominster Information Centre or online via the Priory Arts website.

A romp through the Bayeaux Tapestry presented by Father Guy Cole who will discuss the origins of the Tapestry, its purpose and meaning.

Guy Cole has a life-long interest in history and architecture. He studied History and Archaeology at Bangor before studying Theology at Cambridge and St George’s College, Jerusalem.

In partnership with the British Museum Priory Arts is collaborating with six venues in Leominster to present an exhibition and town trail about the Bayeux Tapestry. Stitched Stories of Leominster created by local artists form part of the exhibition.

The Battle of Hastings in 1066 is one of the most famous events in British history. The defeat of the Anglo-Saxon King Harold II by the Norman Duke William the Conqueror is still important today. The Bayeux Tapestry is named after the city in Normandy where it has been kept for most of its history. It’s not a true tapestry but a hand-embroidered cloth, 70 meters (230 feet) long. Crafted between 1070 to 1080, it is the largest embroidery of its age to have survived in Europe.

It's time to talk about our October theatrical presentation.

"Mustard" is described as a spicy, tangy theatrical experience full of warmth, heart and soul.

This brand new show, specially made for rural touring, celebrates the history of mustard. Created by writer and theatre-maker John Osborne, and based on his episode of Radio 4’s Food Programme broadcast in September 2025, the show takes a witty look at the origins of Colman’s Mustard.

World Su***de Prevention Day – 10 September

Yesterday was World Su***de Prevention Day, but su***de prevention isn’t something we think about only once a year. It’s something we stay aware of every day — noticing changes, listening without judgement, and making space for honest conversations as its not something to be ashamed of.

Some of our staff have had official training to help recognise when someone might be struggling, and we’re sharing these images to raise awareness and encourage kinder, more supportive conversations.

If loneliness plays a part for you or someone you know, you’re welcome to come in and see the clubs and activities we have available. Finding a place to connect — even gently — can make a real difference.

Ask, listen, help them connect, check in again.
