With touring now in full swing and multiple vehicles on the road, it may be time to share a little of what Scotland has given us so far this year in highlights... Some not all.

Pictures come with comments ❤.

Occasionally a tour does not go according to plan, often by events out with anyone's control.

When this happens you can be assured that the Little Scottish Treasures team will spring to action, no matter what changes are required to make your vacation magical.

This week seen a ferry cancellation to start with and then no landing available on the Staffa, but ferry cancellations, hurricanes, medical issues or any other inconvenience will see our team do everything we can to ensure the tour is everything you expected and more.

This is another great reason for going private, with an independent Scottish tour company who know how to take care of anything unexpected.

Going to Clava Cairns?

A visit to Clava Cairns is a chance to see and touch something very, very old, but nearby there is a Little Treasure that is certainly new to us.

At Clava the Culloden Viaduct dominates the landscape and the best place to view it is a wee junction just past the turning for the Cairns. At this junction you will see a box, open it and you will be introduced to bags produced by a couple of young local entrepreneurs who are selling a little taste of Scotland at their Honesty Shop.

Keyring, Little Highland Cow, Snack & a Bottle of Scotland's Second National Drink, no complaints here ☺.

Well done to the Johnstone Boys, and good luck with the venture at

The bluebells are starting to flower in pockets, soon whole forest floors will be awash with them.

This beautiful moment does not last long, so we will enjoy it while it's here.

A day off touring means a day in the office... Oh no, not when the weather is this good.

So today we decided to grab two of our guides, Iain and Dave. Then the four of us went exploring, while sharing stories and laughs... Office work can wait, this was a day for all four of us to learn from each other.

Staying at the top of your game means sharing stories, revisiting locations and learning something new about this fantastic wee country every day.

Shinty.

When touring Scotland you may see in the Highlands areas that look like football/soccer pitches with slim tall goals, this is a shinty pitch, a game popular in the Highlands and almost unique to Scotland.

Often compaired to field hockey there are of course some slightly more aggressive differences. In shinty you can chip up the ball and it is often played in the air, you can barge people off the ball and the stick is double sided allowing both sides to be used.

Do not get in the way of the ball, it's not soft and can fly around this pitch at over 100mph.

Rugby, Shinty, Elephant Polo and Curling all sports we Scots are proud of and lead the world in.

When visiting Scotland if you want a unique experience, ask us to add it and we will plan it into a tour.

For example, a Highland Games, swimming with sharks, falconry, boating out to the world's 3rd largest whirlpool, meeting puffins or visiting the exact place your ancestors stayed... If it's possible, we will plan it for you.

Sometimes however things happen when on tour that are not planned, but are there to take advantage of, like this Saturday.

While on tour we were due to visit Culloden on the day of the 280th Anniversary Service. A moving time for both guests and guide.

The unexpected on tour can often be the highlight of a vacation.

The filming of the new Highlander movie is stopping access to the occasional site, but today we got a wee glimpse of a bit of movie making at a very well known castle.

Come to Scotland, wear a kilt, learn how to get in and out of a vehicle without shocking the world, but most of all have fun while on vacation.

The majority of us see this as cultural appreciation not appropriation.

On tour we have had everyone from kilt wearing professional Colombian BMX riders to ballet dancing Latvians and they all had one thing in common... They loved it and locals did too.

As long as you wear it correctly we appreciate the effort ❤.
