On This Day in 2018, Royal Albert Dock officially received its royal title 👑

Granted by royal approval, the title recognised the dock’s historic importance to the city, its maritime legacy and its continued role at the heart of Liverpool’s cultural waterfront.

More than 175 years after first opening, the dock continues to evolve, welcoming millions of visitors each year while remaining one of the city’s most iconic spaces.

Two Rolling Stones celebrate their birthdays this week - Ronnie Wood (1/6/47) and the late Charlie Watts (2/6/41). To mark the occasion, this week's Sunday Album Playback is the 1971 Rolling Stones classic, Sticky Fingers 🎧

Sticky Fingers captured a pivotal shift in popular culture, where music, art, fashion, and celebrity converged. The Rolling Stones' exploration of desire, excess and vulnerability remains inseparable from Andy Warhol’s iconic zipper cover, making the album a defining artefact of its era.

Listen to the album in full from midday on Sunday in our Star Café. No museum ticket required.
