2020 is the crunch year for one of Liverpool's finest hidden gems. The Roscoe Head on Roscoe Street off Leece Street is under threat from the owners who want to turn it into student accommodation when the lease for the current landlady, Carol Ross, expires later this year.

From a historical point of view this pub, which dates from the 19th century 1870 to be exact, has retained many heart warming features from it's early days including the tiny snug and the ornate fireplaces. A cosy little retreat from the hustle and bustle of town centre shopping it should be on your "must visit" list whenever you visit the city centre.

So if you find yourself in this part of town over the weekend treat yourself to a pint in this fantastic and unique piece of Liverpool history and help Carol and the team (you can even buy "save the Roscoe" tee shirts) save this most important hostelry for another 150 years.
