π 5 THINGS I WISH I KNEW BEFORE UMRAH
Going for Umrah soon? Save this because these are things youβll want to know before you go. π€
1οΈβ£ Ihram Before Miqat
You must enter the state of Ihram before crossing the Miqat.
βοΈ If you're flying to Jeddah, have your Ihram ready in your carry-on and change before reaching the Miqat. Many flights announce when the Miqat is approaching.
2οΈβ£ Secure Your Prayer Spot in the Haram
Want a good place for Salah? β° Arrive 45β60 minutes early
For Jumu'ah, aim to arrive around 2 hours early as it can get extremely busy.
π‘ Staying inside between Maghrib and Isha can also save you the hassle of finding a spot again.
3οΈβ£ Tawaf Isn't Just Walking in Circles
Begin your Tawaf at the Black Stone and say Bismillah, Allahu Akbar.
Men perform Idtiba during Tawaf by uncovering the right shoulder.
β οΈ Avoid unnecessary contact with the Black Stone, Yemeni Corner, or the Kaaba covering, especially where fragrance may be present, as applying perfume/fragrance is prohibited while in Ihram.
4οΈβ£ Sa'i Is NOT a Race
Start at Safa, face the Kaaba and make dua.
πββοΈ Men jog between the green markers; women walk normally.
Take your time, especially when it's crowded. If the lower level is busy, consider using the upper levels.
5οΈβ£ LEARN BEFORE YOU GO
Don't wait until you arrive to learn how Umrah works.
π Study a step-by-step Umrah guide, learn the key duas and understand each stage of the journey before you travel.
