What does Half Board mean in the Maldives? 🌴

Half Board (HB) usually includes:
✓ Daily breakfast
✓ Daily dinner

Lunch is not included — so it’s ideal if you prefer a relaxed lunch by the pool, a light bite, or an excursion during the day.
But here’s the important part: Half Board is not identical at every resort.

At some resorts, dinner is a buffet. At others, you can choose selected à la carte restaurants or receive a dining credit. Drinks are usually extra, including alcohol — and often even water, soft drinks, minibar items and coffee outside meal times.

Also check for:
• premium dishes or special restaurant supplements
• which restaurants are included
• whether “Half Board Plus” adds selected drinks
Our advice: never judge a meal plan by its name alone. Check the exact inclusions before booking — it can make a big difference to the final holiday cost.

What does Full Board mean in the Maldives? 🌴

Full Board (FB) usually includes:

It’s a great option if you want all three main meals covered before you arrive — especially on private-island resorts, where there are no restaurants outside the hotel.
But don’t confuse Full Board with All Inclusive.
At many Maldives resorts, Full Board is a food-only plan. Alcoholic drinks, cocktails, minibar, snacks, spa treatments, diving and excursions are normally extra. Even water, soft drinks, tea and coffee may only be included during meals — or not included at all.

Your meals may be:

• a set menu or selected à la carte dishes
