New Member Shoutout: Star Clippers ⛵

We are welcoming Star Clippers as a new member of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation Chapter UK & Europe.

Following the recent announcement that all of its ships will spend the winter season in the Caribbean this year, the region takes centre stage in Star Clippers’ programme, offering travellers a distinctive way to experience the Caribbean from the sea.

We caught up with Nicola Cox, Head of Sales at Star Clippers, to learn more about the company, its unique sailing experience, and the magnificent tall ships that have become such a recognisable sight on the Caribbean horizon.

We look forward to working together to strengthen the visibility of the Caribbean in the United Kingdom and European markets and to showcasing the diversity of experiences the region has to offer.

Welcome aboard Star Clippers! ⚓

The Caribbean remains the world’s leading cruise region, welcoming over 16 million cruise passengers in 2025 and accounting for approximately 44% of global cruise deployment.

Last week, the CTO Chapter participated for the first time in the Cruise Trade News Summit in London.

Florian Valmy-Devillers, Business Development Director, joined industry colleagues from Iglu.com, Abercrombie & Kent, Gold Medal and Princess Cruises for a panel discussion moderated by Josie Klein.

The conversation explored how the industry can move beyond the traditional port call to create more seamless journeys and greater value for destinations, communities and travellers.

Key opportunities for the Caribbean include:
🌴 Stronger partnerships across cruise, air, tourism and local businesses;
✈️ More integrated fly-cruise and pre- and post-cruise stays;
🤝 Deeper destination experiences and stronger connections with local communities;
🌐 Technology and AI to personalise and enhance the visitor journey.

As cruise continues to evolve, the opportunity for the Caribbean is clear: not simply to welcome more visitors, but to help them experience more of the region.

Thank you to our newest members, World of Cruising and Cruise Trade News for bringing the industry together and sparking these important conversations.

📣 CTO Chapter appoints Chapter Manager ☀️

It is with enthusiasm that we share the appointment of Nadine Rankin as Chapter Manager of the CTO Chapter UK & Europe, effective 17 August 2026.

Nadine has been an integral part of the CTO Chapter UK & Europe for more than 25 years, having served on the Board since 1999, including as Co-Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer. She also served as a Trustee of the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association Education Foundation, supporting education and opportunities across Caribbean hospitality and tourism.

Having led her own company for several decades and worked with public and private sector clients, Nadine brings extensive industry experience, strong commercial expertise and a deep understanding of the Chapter and its members. Her ability to speak German, French and Spanish is also a valuable asset as we continue to strengthen our engagement across the United Kingdom and key European source markets.

Reflecting on her new role, Nadine shared:
“The CTO Chapter has been an important part of my professional life for nearly three decades and this feels like such a natural progression. Having had the privilege of running my own company, which enabled me to volunteer a small amount of time to supporting the Chapter, I now have the opportunity to devote my energy full-time to an organisation whose mission I deeply value.
“It is an exciting new adventure for me, and I look forward to helping the CTO Chapter grow its influence and impact throughout the UK and Europe.”
