We’re proud to be helping protect one of Cornwall’s most historic walking routes 🌿

The Tinners’ Way, an 18-mile trail stretching from St Just to St Ives, weaves through dramatic landscapes and centuries of mining heritage. Thanks to donations to the HF Holidays Pathways Fund, important restoration work has been carried out along part of the route used by HF Holidays groups between St Ives and Trevalgan. Working alongside partners West Cornwall Footpaths Preservation Society, the work included repairing stiles, installing handrails and benches, and improving access for walkers.

A new bronze plaque now marks the beginning of the route, celebrating its significance and the miners who once walked it.

These improvements ensure that this special trail can be enjoyed for generations to come. Thank you to all our members and guests who made it possible.

Thank you to HF Walk Leader Lorraine for brightening our day with this wonderful shot taken a couple of weeks ago on a Walking and Sightseeing break in the South Downs.

The group walked from West Dean up the Monarch's Way to St Roche's Hill and this moment captures their celebration at reaching the top! They were rewarded with 360 degree views taking in the North Downs, South Downs, coast and even part of the Isle of Wight.

A huge thank you to John, our HF Walk Leader for sharing this beautiful photograph from his week leading The Cleveland Way Guided Trail this May.

Not only does the scenery look incredible, but it seems the group was treated to some fantastic weather too! Even more impressively, all ten guests successfully completed the full 109-mile stretch, which weaves through the ever-changing landscape of North Yorkshire.

💚 Join us this Volunteers' Week in honouring our amazing HF Leaders, Field Advisors and Board Directors, past and present. “You are what has made our co-operative so special for over 112 years."

Behind every HF Holiday is a community of passionate volunteers who go above and beyond for our guests and for many, the experience is life-changing too.

As Andrea, a HF Leader and Board Director, says “Leading gave me a new lease of life… I had something to look forward to and a real sense of purpose. HF has broadened my horizons with new friends and constant learning. It's even led me to joining the Board - shaping a future where more people can share this experience."

Safe journey home to all of our HF Members who attended this weekend’s members break at HF Country House at Thorns Hall in Sedbergh.

We explored the Western Yorkshire Dales together, and we’re lucky enough to get a sneak peek of some new special interest and walking sightseeing holidays, including a trip to .mill and Cautley Spout.

This National Walking Month we are celebrating the incredible walking groups that make holidays with HF so special – including the wonderful Rushcliffe Ramblers, The Ramblers.

Thanks to the group's travel organiser Angela, they have explored the UK and beyond together for over 30 years - from climbing Snowdon in glorious sunshine to discovering new favourite places in the Lake District, Austria, and beyond.

For Angela, it's about more than just the walks. It’s the friendships, the shared experiences, and the sense of community – whether celebrating birthdays together or simply enjoying time outdoors together. As she explains; “You join for the walks but stay for the friendships.”

Here’s to Rushcliffe Ramblers and all the walking groups who inspire us to get out, explore, and enjoy the journey together.
